I don't think he's that bright but in a way that's helping him as HOH as he's not overthinking things. In Big Brother the smartest moves are the simple ones like not wasting an opportunity to take out a big opponent. Far too many people in the house fret over getting blood on their hands and let themselves be talked out of putting up the people they originally intended. He's also been pretty good of handling his emotions in the house as he's not been involved in any conflicts. I don't see the guy winning any competitions that involve brains which would hurt him deeper into the game.

That's what I meant. He's not book smart for sure, but he's able to be emotionally available to other houseguests without really getting attached. He smartly understood back dooring Clelli was silly as their chance of sending one home was better with both up and he doesn't seem scared of the fallout.

He also seems like he gets how to make tough decisions. He clearly likes Clay, but is able to see past the emotion

Plus, he's right that even if he puts one up both would be mad at him so why not just put both up?

I was actually hoping James would reach out to Johnny Mac and form some sort of alliance with him. These two are my favorites this season.

Think the House is going to regret not getting rid of Shelli when they could. I can't stand her crying all the time

Pretty surprised to see no one voted to have Vanessa out

I keep being surprised when a new thread pops up year after year on this show.

I watched season 1. I don't remember much other than there was a stripper from Minnesota. I had to google it, season 1 was in 2000.

Have you guys watched all through the many seasons?

I watched the first season and hated it, went back just before the All Star season (6??) because the girlfriend at the time watched it, got sucked in with the all star cast because a bunch from the previous season came back.

Watched every since, I usually tail off towards the end of each season, it becomes less interesting the less people are involved and I ultimately don't care who wins.

It's fun stupid simple TV.

Season 6 in 2005 was the first season I watched when it aired. Watched back all the seasons except for 1 (which is a completely different game) and have watched every season since.

The earlier seasons (up to All-Stars) are fun. Its generally tailed off since because of the over-saturation of twists and less interesting casts but this season has been pretty entertaining so far. Like MMF said, I usually lose interest towards the end but I don't think that'll be the case for this one.

As soon as Meg/Jackie/James realized that keeping Vanessa benefited them that probably dictated the rest of the voting. Have Vanessa and Becky go after each other while the three of them slide by. Becky obviously knew the plan changed but this is pretty bad for her.

The second vote was confusing, I didn't know where Steve's allegiances were at. I thought his nominations were going to be a setup for a James backdoor and thought James was done as soon as he lost the veto comp. It also looks like one of the jury members will be coming back into the game.

Surprised no one has even considered going after Austin + the twins. They are just sliding by with ease.

Oh, and:

I've seen every season as well but I don't agree that the show has tailed off since all star season. There have been some great seasons with great characters and great gameplay. The twists keep things interesting. Sure from a game integrity standpoint, the twists hurt that cause. But I watch the show for entertainment, the reactions of people, the drama etc. Twists are okay in my book.

Since all stars...

Season 8-evel dick running over the house. Had Americas player which was a fun idea. The self centred Jen who everyone hated. She and Dick had some great fights. That was a solid season.

Season 9-the love at first sight season was just brutal.

Season 10-probably my favorite because of Dan G. Great characters in Jessie, Keesha, Ollie-April and the old man Jerry making it to final 3. Love this season.

Season 11-this season had so much drama. Thanks Russell. I'm
A Jeff and Jordan fan so I liked this season quite a bit. The villains(namely Natalie) were very easy to hate.

Season 12-saboteur twist fell flat. Brigade was impressive but didn't really stir it up. Highlight was Rachel v Reagan. Not a great season.

Season 13-wish evel dick hadn't left. He would have changed things dramatically. Hated the duo twist. But we got to see Lawon make the worst move in big brother history. He volunteered to be voted out in hopes of returning with a "special power".

Season 14-liked this season because of Dan G. He was ruthless and it was great to watch. Better move in BB history than Dan's funeral? I can't think of one more impressive in its execution.

Season 15-just a disgusting season with worse people.

Season 16-ups and downs but watching Derrick mastermind was great stuff.

Season 17-didn't really grab me much early in the season but since sixth sense lost power, it has gotten better. Jury still out for me.

I don't mind this season. I will say it's kind of the season of floaters as Becky and Steve kind of turned things upside down due to being independents. What I like is that there's a small handful of partnerships but no major alliances left. I think keeping Vanessa over Shelli was a mistake as at least with Shelli you know where you stand but Vanessa will throw everyone and anyone under the bus so working with her can be bad for your game. The twins and Austin really floated through the past few weeks and I imagine the house will soon start to focus on them.

No one is going after Austin and the twins because they don't win anything or make any moves.

Vanessa really is a bully. She basically extorts "alliances", then throws those alliances away the second they're inconvenient, then plays it up like she was some victim.
When someone disagrees with her, or refuses to go along with her, she torpedoes them by twisting what was said or telling half truths. Tonight when telling Austin/twins about her conversation with Johnny Mac, instead of saying that Johnny Mac disagrees, and doesn't want to work with her, she says he gave her attitude, without actually disclosing what was said and then suggests he's crazy.

Steve adds nothing to this show. I wish he would go away. Siding with Austin's alliance will just lead to him getting cut at final 5 like a geek.

If Vanessa owned her game in the diary room and admitted to being duplicitous I'd like her more, but she is delusional.

Austin + the Twins are just sitting pretty right now. Vanessa is their meat shield and she would go before them which is another free week for them.

I liked Vanessa in the beginning but now she's the person I like the least. She always talks like she's straight up and trustworthy but she sells out anyone to benefit her and is the biggest liar in the house. Any time she finds out someone says something about her she makes it a house problem in front of everyone while pulling her crying act. I laughed how she asked Steve how he felt about her and when he's honest about it she gets all mad and is now trying to manipulate Liz into making him a target. As usual she's manipulating the HOH into getting rid of the person she wants then when it happens she claims she had nothing to do with it and throws the HOH under the bus for it. Pretty shady player.

I could live with that as they are pretty cute. Now they are both on the show I can tell the difference between their voices.

Julia is the prettier, stronger, and seemingly more practical twin. Liz is just straight up catty.

It would be a stupid move for their alliance and has a 0.0001% chance of happening but it would be amazing entertainment if Liz backdoored Vanessa.
