Nothing photographically fancy. Just a few pics from a cycling trip last week.

Ok, this is NOT my picture! I am a Scrambler (as my nick would tell you) so I am of course subrscribed to several scambling sites. I see lots and lots of great pics, but for some reason this is the one I want to share most:

View from Mt Smutswood, Canadian Rockies (off Smith Dorrien south of Canmore), looking towards Mt Birdwood:

I scrambled well over 200 mountains in the Rockies from early 90's to the mid 2000's (when I moved to Japan). I loathe the fact that I didn't take many pictures back then and the ones I did are all forgotton (have no clue what memory card or computer they may be on )

One of my favorite things to find on my road trips are old school houses. Many of them are actually on people's property, but I came across this little one a couple weekends ago

Pretty cool in and of itself, but the door was open. So in I went.

There was so much cool stuff in this place, but it was covered in pigeon crap, so I didn't want to stay in there too long. The weird thing was that there wasn't a single pigeon on the main floor. But there were stairs to the basement and I could hear TONS of the birds down there cooing and flying around. I don't know why they were down there instead of upstairs, but I didn't go down to find out. It was a bit creepy.

There was stuff strewn about and other little signs. Names on the chalkboard, and Xmas decorations left.

But the best thing was an old piano tucked away in the corner. Tough to get a good shot because of the lighting (and again my desire to get out of this bird-crap covered place) but did the best I could.

Went for a walk in Fishcreek Park yesterday and came across this large Osprey, it was high above the water looking for a quick lunch. I'm glad I had my big zoom with me.

Here's the site for the project:

And a couple of shots

Used my Nikkor 2.0X tele-converter attached to my 70-200mm f/2.8 VRII lens and was able to capture this shot yesterday on the Kananaskis River. No crop either, was able to get in really tight.

The skies got really active with fast moving clouds, thick smoke highlighting the Sunbeam stretching down to the water below.

Hey Regulator, what are you using to process your images into black and white? I've done some experimenting with Silver Efex Pro and was thinking of plunking down the money for pretty much the whole Google Nik collection (I want to start doing some HDR stuff too). Are you using different software?

Only Lightroom 6 was used for that shot.
