I think the Blue Jays making the playoffs would be a massive cash cow for the club if they can even get to the ALDS. The entire country would go crazy for them. The gamble is worth it.

I've been a fan of the Jays since '85. The last 22 years have been such a perennial disappointment that I can't even describe. There's always been talent in Toronto, but they've never been able to take it to the next level of a real winning club. Now they have some of the elite talent in the game and are only a couple games back of the 2nd wild card spot/5 back of the 1st spot. By far the best lineup in the game with a very good bench. Above average starting rotation with the addition of Price to bump everyone down to the spot they belong in. Decent enough arms in the bullpen to get the job done (maybe one more really good one would help). There's really no excuses to not get back to the playoffs now.
So please, please, please Blue Jays...don't break my heart yet again.

It's always great reading Marty York's tweets. Such a Jays hater it's hilarious.

The way Jays Junkies and biased media homers are celebrating today, you'd think this. 500 team has already seized a World Series berth. Dumb

Price makes no difference to Jays. The homerism in the media today is absurd.

Quote:
@mromang @AlanClough woo. The Jays Junkies are out there today. Sorry but Jays won't make playoffs. Price cannot make a major difference.
|
Quote:
@AlanClough @mromang nope. I really believe it. Price is overrated at this point of his career.

It's tough seeing Norris go, don't care about Boyd, the other guy is far enough away that he's a lottery ticket (but wow, he's big, LH, throws fast). I'm thrilled that they kept Alford through this. I think he's the guy down on the farm that I'm most excited about (and might have been even before these trades). 22 years has been long enough - love the trade!

Actually relieved to never have to hear about how one of our prospects lives in a van. That's worth trading for right there.

Man, I hope Travis and EE return soon. Even without them playing today the lineup looks pretty good; with them in it's like a fantasy lineup (as others have discussed throughout the day).

2-0, but I don't know what Estrada could have done. A hit batter who was well over the plate when he got hit, a broken bat seeing eye single, and a double that was hit well out of the strike zone. Hopefully his offense picks him up. That's some tough luck.

Colabello's not been playing so well lately - I know there aren't much better options at the moment and it may just be a bad run, but I really hope he's not turning into a pumpkin before our eyes.

He had a clutch RBI a few games ago to complete a comeback, and he always gets on base. I'm more worried about Encarnacion.

Tigers also trade Joakim Soria to Pirates for Double AA JaCoby Jones. I don't know how racist this makes me, but I based on the spelling of his name I would have bet a million dollars that Jones was black. (He is not.)

I guess we all see what we see, since the ASB I've not been too impressed with him - I think he's seen two pitches tonight and flied into two infield foul-outs.

And Tulowitzki is 0-3 with 2 strikeouts. Gotta look at the long haul, not a short stretch of games.
Donaldson!

They can definitely rack up the runs. Just crossing my fingers the starters can hold the fort down and get this team in the playoffs. Obviously Price will help out quite a bit. Should be a fun run to the end..........about time.
