According to BMI I'm 10 lbs overweight, and I think that's pretty much bang on. I shoot for 200 lbs, and when I saw I hit 215 I started working out and eating better.
The range for the normal category for BMI appears to be ridiculously low, though. Apparently I can weigh 148 lbs and still be in the normal category. I'm 6' 3". That's insane. I didn't weight 148 when I was in grade 10, and I was as skinny as a rake.

On the other hand, people could just relax, and get fat. Nothing really wrong with that.

Maybe being fat is exponentially worse for your health then being skinny? What I mean is being 10 lbs heavier than the ideal weight is worse than being 20 lbs under that ideal weight?
Just a guess with no actual medical reasoning.

Added costs and stresses on the healthcare system, changes to our infrastructure to accommodate wider people, reduced lifespan, lower IQ, lesser quality of life, added costs to dispose of your oversized carcass when you expire, impact to your loved ones of losing someone far too early.
Yeah, nothin' wrong with that.

When were you diagnosed? All I've done since being diagnosed was gain wight. A lot of the gluten free stuff is higher calorie/lower fibre.

When does being fat result in a lower IQ?

Your brain is a machine, and you must feed it.
I think people get a little bit hysterical about fat people. Just a little bit. And the idea that we must all submit to some sort of scientifically-determined diet and exercise regimen really takes all the fun out of life.
We live in a time of hilarious relative plenty, and we spend all of our time worrying about it.

A little brain and fat story.
I play rugby with a fella that had to see a number of specialists for headaches and concerns with blood clots on his brain from being hit in the head during games.
He got an MRI, just turns out he has a fat brain, literally the doctor said you have a lump of fat on your brain.

Green sarcasm text man! I'm kidding.
Joking aside, I do recall seeing some UK and Puerto Rico parents being charged/arrested for letting their kids get really, really overweight. No idea how that panned out.

I was diagnosed about 3 years ago. My weight has roughly remained the same but I think the big thing is I don't eat a lot of gluten free alternatives. I basically stay away from bread replacements outside of the occasional pizza crust or hamburger bun. The majority of my meals usually end up being fairly simple. Something like a chicken breast, some rice and a bunch of vegetables.

Ya, I still crave bread, like toast for breakfast and gluten free pasta...For the most part I'm not really sure why I gained so much weight though as I eat a lot less "bad" food than I did before.

Could Care Less
|
If I stop drinking beer for a few weeks I drop 10 pounds without changing anything else.
I binge drink on weekends and occasionally drink the odd one during the week. It's pretty much the worst thing you can ingest in terms of gaining weight.
But for me, at the moment, the pros outweigh the cons (pardon the pun). Because I love beer.
