Best/Worst TV Sports Personality's
Outside of hockey, who do you like and who can't you stand? From play by play guys to TV analysts.
The Good
Joe Buck- Over time have come to really like this guy. I feel he get's excited at the right time and has a really good understanding of both baseball and footballl
Cabbie- I've thought he was hilarious since his earlier days on the Score. The guy just comes off as being real, and usually I find myself laughing pretty hard at him. You can tell players like him as he again and again get's the real big name players on.
Chris Berman- Something about the guys voice just makes the game exciting. He also gives a lot of love to the CFL even if he screws up the names of head coach's in the Grey Cup
The Bad
The White Sox play by play guy- Maybe the worst announcer in the history of sports. I understand local stations have homers for announcers but this guy is the worst ever. Literally cherring for a player as he rounds the base's, and his stupid "put it on the board...yes" line makes me want to bash the tv in.
The entire Fox NFL Sunday crew- In my mind the worst pre-game show without a doubt. Besides the hot Canadian weather girl they all suck in my mind

Dan Shulman has matured into one of the best baseball play by play guys in the biz.
I also enjoy the tandem of Jon Miller and Joe Morgan. In fact, Miller is probably my favourite baseball guy.

I can't stand Dick Endberg with his endless "OH MYs".
I like Marv Albert for basketball: "YEEESS".
The best commentators are the British soccer announcers; very funny, and they only speak when necessary.
I like Martine Gaillard.
I loathe Ron Maclean and his painful puns.
I think Chris Berman is great too.
Howard Cosell was excellent. DOWN GOES FRAZIER DOWN GOES FRAZIER! Berman's whole act is basically an homage to Cosell.

Howard William Cosell, born Howard William Cohen (March 25, 1918 – April 23, 1995) was an American sports journalist on American television. His abrasive personality and tendency to speak his mind, often in erudite terms unusual for a sportscaster, made him, according to one poll, both the most-liked and most-hated television reporter in the country.

Good - Ron MacLean, Don Cherry, Chris Cuthbert, Mike Emrick, Pierre McGuire, Gord Miller, Bob McKenzie. I LOVE Jennifer Hedger. Others are the old Penguins play by play guy, Rick Jennerette. I like John Madden and Al Michaels. Jon Miller and Joe Morgan are good for baseball as well. I used to watch on Sunday nights.
Cabbie is pretty funny as well.
Bad - Mark Lee. He is just horrible. Kevin Quinn sucks as well. Jim Hugson. I hated that Dennis Miller on MNF.

How did I forget Don Taylor, maybe the worst out there! In terms of some of the local networks, I've really liked the two guy's that does the Bo Sox games on NESN. Listening to them these last few nights on sportsnet, they really have impressed me. My other fav. defintley has to be Charles Barkley, I love him on TNT and is one of the few reasons I'll watch an NBA game now a days

IMO they are the best baseball broadcasters today. It's a Red Sox broadcast, but they are not a couple of homers. Listen to a Blue Jays broadcast on Sportsnet then compare the two. What a gap.
On the other side, am I the only one that has a tough time listening to Rod Black? He may sound good, but he has nothing to say.

Can't stand Jon Miller - way overrated IMO.
Angels and Ducks Fox Sports crews are both absurd.
I really like the Mariners TV crew - totally laid back reminds me of listening to a DJ on a Jazz station.
Keith Jackson/Dan Fouts Pac 10 football are very good
The best announcer bar none - Vin Scully!!! If I'm stressed out from work - listening to a couple of innings by Vinnny and the world is good again

You guys seem to have most of them pegged pretty well
I'll add Tony Cornhieser (sp?) to the Bad list. This guy drives me nuts on PTI, but now having him on Monday Night Football is going to make me pull out whats remaining of my hair!!

I read this thread and I don't see Nick Kypreos anywhere????
By far the dumbest sack of **** on T.V. Anyone else is stomachable compared to that idiot.
I used to love the commentary of Bob Ueker. He was also worth the price to watch the Major League movies no matter how bad the movie was. I think NBC's team was Ueker and Bob Costas for baseball in the late 90's and I thought they were great.
