Default Calgary Tornado Warning (Warning ended)

Heads up folks!

Quote:
12:44 PM MDT Wednesday 22 July 2015

Tornado warning in effect for:
  • City of Calgary
Updated or ended by 1:43 p.m. MDT.

Environment Canada meteorologists are tracking a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado.

At 12:40 PM MDT Doppler RADAR indicated that this severe thunderstorm was located just north of Priddis and was moving toward the southeast at 30 km/h. The southwest corner of Calgary is in the path of this tornado.

In addition to a tornado, this severe thunderstorm is capable of producing golf ball sized hail.
This is a dangerous and potentially life-threatening situation. Take cover immediately, if threatening weather approaches. If you hear a roaring sound or see a funnel cloud, swirling debris near the ground, flying debris, or any threatening weather approaching, take shelter immediately.

Go indoors to a room on the lowest floor, away from outside walls and windows, such as a basement, bathroom, stairwell or interior closet. Leave mobile homes, vehicles, tents, trailers and other temporary or free-standing shelter, and move to a strong building if you can. As a last resort, lie in a low spot and protect your head from flying debris.

Environment Canada meteorologists will update alerts as required. Please monitor local media or Weatheradio. To report severe weather, send an email to storm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ABStorm.

That part does not make sense to me - SE of Priddis is more towards Okotoks?

Sometimes a funnel cloud is just a funnel cloud.

We see something like that now too over Market Mall way.
