Thanks guys. I actually think I prefer St Patrick's bridge over the Peace Bridge. That whole area is starting to become a personal favorite of mine...and am really glad that I live a 5 minute bike ride away. Can't wait for the actual park to open.

The actual bridge is nice, nowhere near the Peace Bridge IMO, but better then I thought until seeing it with my own eyes up close. What's really nice is how much they've done in that area, it's not just the bridge but so much work has been done down there. Really impressive.

Was meaning to shoot down there last week but got rained on.

From an architecture standpoint, it's definitely not as unique. I do think it's better built (up close the Peace bridge has a lot of unsightly issues), and is nice and wide so theres plenty of room for pedestrians and bikes (Peace bridge can feel a bit narrow and crowded at times). The Peace Bridge might make a nicer postcard, but I think the St. Patrick's bridge is a better bridge for citizens.

Plus the setting of being in the East Village and St Patricks Island, and a killer of view of downtown...I'm a fan. Once this place is built out, I think it will rival, and perhaps better, Prince's Island and Eau Claire.

SPB could have been better. They definitely cheaped out. The ramp onto the Island is an obvious cost-cut. I wish there were some bike-lane type of flooring on the bridge like the Peace Bridge has. It's huge though and the whole East Village is on an awesome upswing

The little ramp on the St Patricks bridge feels hilariously tacked on for sure. I think that can definitely be said about Peace Bridge as well though. They cheaped out on the decking and lighting...and the bumpy metal work just looks shoddy.

Nothing special, but this is the first time I've taken out my camera in 6 months, or longer.

Calgary circa Oct 2010 - I love fall, favorite time of year. Can't wait a couple of months for cooler temps, hockey season, fall colours and new beer flavours.

the only kicker with a long exposure and a little wind is it just kills your focus

Very cool, that middle one looks like the Matterhorn.

And unfortunately, all I shot was what's on my Flickr. I only had about 10-15 minutes to take a quick look around, so didn't really get much in.

We went wandering around Riley Park/Senator Patrick Burns Garden on Sunday. Got a few pics. I realize there's a bit of noise with the background on this, but I only have my cell phone for pictures right now, and can't seem to avoid it.

This thread makes me (a) miss Calgary; and (b) feel really embarrassed about my photography.

That's a crime... That beauty doesn't need that done to it.
