One of my bank reps says one dealer had 4 in one month... when they dug into it, it was the same family, same address.

And because their North American credit bureau is completely worthless and unrecognised in China, they don't care, especially if they never plan to come back. And the stupid thing is, the banks just shrug and write them off.... they have no way to enforce it. This isn't just a Chinese thing though. A lot go to the middle east.
I'm sorry, can you explain this? Is it this easy to get loans in Canada now? Also don't permanent residents have houses, other assets in Canada? So they just abandon all of their assets? And usually if people from China get permanent resident status they want to keep it. This just doesn't make sense to me.

Gonna wager a guess that the ones intending to scam bajeebus out of us aren't loading up on real estate during their stays.

Someone ask Donald Trump what he thinks about this

Many of them do own houses. But they cannot take their house back to China, Russia, Iran.... whatever country they are from, with them.

Apparently there is a large ID fraud component attached as well, as there could be hundreds of people in Canada with the same Chinese name. It gets even more complicated when they adopt a North American name.

As far as the ease of approval, a huge chunk of dealer issued loans... probably 30% or more.... are never even seen by human eyes at the bank, and are system approved. I do not want to get into the specifics, as I am sure the banks don't want the info public, but there is huge holes foreigners have learned to exploit for this exact purpose. And they need to be plugged.

Lastly, many people get here from their home country, and either make their wad so they can go back and live like a king, or simply don't like the lifestyle and prefer their home country. Contrary to popular belief, not every single immigrant thinks the North American lifestyle is the cats ass.

Is a permanent resident able to use our health care system and schooling for free? Because most people I know here in China make their money in China and want to keep their Canadian status. Basically they just want the Canadian or American status for their kids to go to school and for t=when they get old and retire.

I think a few of you might not know the steps for somebody coming to Canada. The Coles notes version:
- Somebody comes to Canada on a work permit. That is their status, work permit holder.
- After working in Canada for a few years, they can apply to be a permanent resident.
- After being a permanent resident for a few more years, they can apply to be a Canadian Citizen.

Once a citizen, that status is for life. However with either of the other statuses, you have no rights to re-enter Canada after a certain period of time.

However once you have a work permit you have a SIN, and can start applying for credit. Capital One is great for give anybody a secured M/C, and after a few months with that positive credit, you can easily apply for another card. I've actually used this method for several family members who were new to Canada- so they could establish good credit. I can see how it wouldn't be hard for somebody with good credit to be approved for a car.

As for health care and education, any legal resident of Alberta is eligible for both of those. Your status with the Federal gov't is not relevant; as long as you are here legally. And yes, before you come over you are required to pass certain medical tests.
