I find it useless, to be honest. Obnoxious posters get quoted a lot, so you pretty much have to see the majority of their posts anyway. I don't like how there's that little bar that says that an ignored poster has posted either. Fix those two things and it would be a great thing.

Those quoted posts are like little windows reminding you why they are on your list.

I resisted the ignore list for years, thinking no one should have all their opinions completed muted.

Now that I've broken the seal, it's amazing.

OT, but does anyone think that extra year of development helped make 2003 the best draft ever? Never too much ripening and all that?

I only have 2 posters on my ignore list... they probably don't post that much, but I would imagine if they post a lot, wouldn't you see it anyways when it gets re-quoted?

It would drive me crazy - I'm more interested in what people have to say on a topic than having to look at a post by a guy who pissed me off in the past (which I can scroll past anyway).

Typed knowing full well some people won't see this.

IMO, it likely helped immensely.

I suppose you have the benefit of no longer having to scroll past their posts. Knowing Ricardo, that's a bit of clutter off your page.

Minor victory!

Does anyone know of a site or any research that has assessed each draft pick position over the years? For example, how many #1 picks played more than 50 games, how many #2 etc.?

It would also be neat to see a breakdown of each draft position by player and how many games each played.

The closest I've seen was an assessment of the likelihood of top 10 players becoming NHLers, and something like that for each round (it was in the context of assessing the value of trading for a pick).

Nothing for each position.

But we knew that when you suggested that it would be no big deal to have Kylington the first 18 year old d-man 2nd round draft pick to play an NHL game. at least anyone picked after #40

Show me an example on how not to be condescending with:

If the Flames put him in the AHL and run into injuries on the big club it might happen. One game, big whoop.

I am politely supposed to point out that he would likely not be in the top 4 on any AHL team? and that calling him up as a stunt would go against earned/given.

wow....Ricardow you just call a guy slow and then complain that someone says your being obnoxious and condescending. We get it, you don't like that people are excited of Kylington. You're also making it sound like you don't like Kylington. I hate to know what you think of the other Flames prospects.

Everyone else, it's ricardow being ricardow. Don't feed the troll.

Kylington will look like an absolute steal if he lives up to potential and Treliving and co. will look amazing. If he doesn't pan out, it's not a big deal because he'll be on par with most every other 60th overall pick. Having faith in a prospect is never a bad thing, I don't see why someone would be upset with this.

CBA and SHL transfer agreement Guru's:

How many NHL regular season games does Kylington need to play to negate the "1st dibs" agreement? There must be a finite number that then gives the Flames free reign to send him wherever they want after that number has been met. Is it 1 game? 10 games to have his ELC stopped from sliding?
I don't think Kylington will make the team out of camp, far from it. As high as I am on the kid he needs some real consistent development time either in the AHL (iffy he'll get the ice time required but then again he may be good enough and I bet Huska would love to get his proverbial Mitts on him) or WHL (Guaranteed top pairing minutes IMO). But, if the way to get him to stay in NA is to suit him up for X number of games to negate the first dibs agreement with AIK I can see them doing it. The top 5 D are strong to cover up Kylington in limited minutes to start the season.

A guy who thinks our 6th best prospect (CP Poll) is only in the system for the compensatory 51st overall pick in the 2017 draft.

Like you said, just don't feed the troll guys.

I think of this when I see a post from Ricardo, I actually like seeing his posts because they remind me of funny videos from 20 years ago.

I think I'm most excited about Kylington then any other Flames prospects... his potential and ceiling is off the charts.

"Off the charts"? Not really, assuming that those charts include ERIK FREAKIN' KARLSSON!!!1

No but seriously talking about the guy like he's a typical 60th overall pick is nonsensical. He has all the talent in the world and picking him in the top 20 would have been perfectly defensible. He's also been playing regular minutes in a pro hockey league for two years. The idea that he might get into a game early season is still unlikely (given that he does need to get stronger), but by no means absurd.

People SHOULD be excited. Boom or bust? Sure. But boom is a realistic possibility.
