I agree that it is a lot of hype over nothing.
It would be interesting to see the figures of how many people had signed up for the Amazon Prime free trial in anticipation for the deals. Now how many casual users would remember to cancel before the $99 membership kicks in?

Not sure what exactly you are looking for, but there are TV's coming up later as well as those currently offered.
Not a lot of models, but excellent value from what I can see.

Believe it or not, they email you before the trial ends, warning you that your credit card will be charged.

WEll if you didn't want to be laid off you shouldn't have devoted so much time to specializing in a skill like 'driving'.

Amazon has been fantastic to me and I think it's worth staying on for the delivery perks.
I presume there will be a backlash thread on RFD with people that are mad about the sale and/or subscription fee.
EDIT: Looks like it has already begun in the US. http://money.cnn.com/2015/07/15/news...day-customers/

Backlash deserved. Like I said earlier, don't compare yourself to black Friday (which actually sees significant discounts for stuff people want), duping people to sign up for your prime service, and then proceed to list a few marginally useful items as amazing deals. No one will be bragging about the amazing stuff they snagged on "prime day".
Looking at it now it seems more like a stunt than a sale.

Total farce. I can't imagine how much all that advertising cost Amazon. I heard it everywhere, multiple radio stations, tv channels, paper, all saying it was going to be massive. They probably copied the US amazon ad, but didn't stop to think how crappy the amazon.ca sales would be.
I use my Prime account quite a bit, but oddly enough, will likely not use it all during this prime only sale.
This "sale" reminds me of browsing through a Liquidation World or the surplus section of Princess Auto.

Not really surprised... Amazon is kind of well known for making really stupid decisions. And I don't just mean this Prime Days either. I wouldn't say I hate Amazon since I use it a lot, but I wouldn't exactly expect it to continue to as popular or innovative in the near future.

Amazon.ca, much like a large chunk of Canadian online shopping, proves yet again to be a disappointment.

Was hoping for a good deal on a PS4. All they have today is 3 months of PS+ thrown in.

Every time I verbally tell someone of that site, they don't think I'm being serious haha.
