Can someone confirm the status of the top forwards on Providence? Mauermann and Luke are done. Acciari signed with the Bruins so he's done. Mingoia, Saracino and Tanev are back next year as far as I can tell. Will Jankowski be the #1 center?
I know points isn't everything but if Jankowski can't get close to PPG in his 4th year of college you have to question his ability to produce at the NHL level.

While this is true, Jankowski's supporting cast on the 1st line won't be as good as he had last year on the Friars' 2nd line. Janko was dishing out beautiful passes all last season & his linemates weren't doing him justice by finishing the plays. This year could be just as frustrating, points-wise for the same reason. If he's going to put up loads of points this season I think he'll need to be doing it all on his own.
He's a good prospect, and though I expect him to put up better numbers, I'm not going to write him off if his stats don't improve.

I think it'll be a great test if he has to do things "alone". It'll put pressure on him and if he does well, he'll make others around him better too. To me, this is a great learning experience for him and an even better test to see if he has what it takes to take the next step. I really hope things work out for him, it'd be awesome if he panned out.

I'm not going to be judging Jankowski by his point totals next season. Instead I'll be looking at his stats in comparison to the rest of Providence. He was 5th in scoring on his team last year. 3 of those players ahead of him are gone so I'd be concerned if he's not top 2.
Between his Frozen Four and Dev Camp showing, I think he's up to the challenge.

It will be an interesting year
20 Shane Luke-14 Ross Mauermann- 9 Trevor Mingoia Sr
18 Nick Saracino Sr -24 Noel Acciari- 26 Brian Pinho So
21 Kevin Rooney Sr-10 Mark Jankowski Sr-22 Brandon Tanev Sr
15 Steven McParland Sr-12 Stefan Demopoulos
19 Jake Walman So-3 John Gilmour Sr
5 Kyle McKenzie Jr-27 Josh Monk Jr
6 Tom Parisi Sr -16 Anthony Florentino Jr
4 Mark Adams
32 Jon Gillies
35 Nick Ellis Jr
1 Brendan Leahy Jr
returning players bolded
adding
D Steven Ruggiero
Forwards
Ryan Tait
Eric Foley LW 3rd rd pick of Winnipeg
Garret Gamez
Bryan Lemos
and Goalie Hayden Hawkey 6th round pick of Montreal
Jankowski whole line is coming back for their senior year. A whole lot of seniors (8) in the lineup.... Is this a last push as next year looks to be a rebuild.
Gilmour was on the #1 D pairing of the NCAA champion..... not 1 vote as a top 10 Flames prospect. Why no love at all?

No 2nd round compensatory pick for Gilmour.

I like Gilmour, but he is not even a top 20 prospect for us, not even sure he is top 30....

Seeing them all side by side, there isn't much difference between him and the Kulak/Culkin class of D-men (Gilmour is below them slightly). There are better guys in the organization because we have a deep roster of prospects. No slight to him, but when you can name 15-20 players that are equal or better that's a good thing for the future of the Flames.

Gilmour is terribly underrated. The fact he looked as good as two guys with a year of professional hockey under their belts speaks well for him. The kid is solid and can do it all. I keep saying it, he is very reminiscent of a young Mark Giordano when he was coming up. Keep an eye on him. He's a very good player at both ends of the ice.

Gilmour was a 7th round pick so it's understandable. He's not big and he's not flashy so nobody talks about him.
He seems to be progressing well and must have a good understanding of Providence's strong defensive system if he's playing top minutes.

Then again, neither was Jooris a year ago.

Janko right back at it after Dev Camp:

Also, his little bro may weigh less than Johnny.

It's the same training facility that Giordano, Subban, Tavares, McDavid, Spezza use apparently, based on the rosters:

That might be David Jankowski. Mark's been here in Calgary since June thru Dev Camp, so the date doesn't make sense.

It should be Mark, that's why he is wearing the flames development shirt and shorts they gave the prospects during camp.
