I'd probably move him over to 2B and have Travis try and figure out how to be a SS for the time being.

If you tear down what's the timeline for contending. Another 3-5 years away AGAIN. This is a team that has the longest drought in the bigs. I'm so jealous of the fans of other teams who have enjoyed playoff baseball even once in the last 25 years.
Frustration at an all time high. I don't know what the answer is.

I literally just started following baseball or more specifically the Blue Jays. I've been following along for about 1 month or a little less. Like actually leaving them on tv and watching their games and all I've seen from Reyes is that he is the ####s.
I don't know virtually any ball players or who's good or not, except for Reyes. He is terrible. So the first thing I've ever learnt as a Blue Jays fan is that Reyes needs to go. Just awful.

It's like Reyes has got the yips on some of these grounders. It should be second nature at this point but he keeps losing them through the wickets. Weird. He is responsible for at least three runs against today.

I know what you mean. It's like they don't follow through properly on anything. It's nothing but half measures. Enough to be somewhat okay, but never good enough to actually do a damn thing.
If it was up to me, I'd toss everyone of EE, Bautista, Reyes, Dickey, Bueherle, Navarro and any relievers except Osuna for the best packages of prospects you can get, and then use whatever freed up dollars to target some pitching in the offseason. Worst case is they are bad next year, but it isn't like they are doing anything now.

Worst case is they are bad next year and for years after. That's the risk. You can't ask this fan base to wait another 5 years.

Say what you want about Reyes but no excuse for what Martin just did, just plain dumb.

As frustrating as this is, the Jays have a payroll well into the nine figures. It is just woefully misused at the moment. That is on AA.
You can't just "toss everyone" including EE and Bautista as they have their 10 and 5 rights and thus could block any trade - if they wanted to. Those two are some of the best value for what their contracts are in the whole of MLB. I'm coming around to disliking Reyes, but the reality is that you aren't going to get anything for him from any other team - in fact, I'd strongly believe that you'd have to eat a huge amount of his remaining contract to even have another team take him off your hands at this point.
Navarro isn't worth trading right now - literally, you are not going to get anything that is a better asset for the team than he is right now. There are no contending teams that need him right now (to my knowledge). He is a free agent after this season, so no rebuilding team is going to want him either.
Then, you can't "use whatever dollars you free up" to sign pitching because no free agent is going to join a team that just began a scorched-Earth rebuild. Not to mention the obvious difficulty of getting a player to agree to play for a team that looks to have a better than even chance of continuing a playoff drought to a 22nd year, that plays in a hitters ballpark in the AL East.
You obviously love prospects and young players and do some great work for the board in that area for the Flames and I appreciate that, but I just don't think what you are advocating for is feasible, if it is even desirable.

And man, it's probably completely irrational, but I've become a huge Kevin Pillar fan this season (and I know this isn't exactly an original thought).

This is an ugly game but to be fair in this heat, I think you have to consider that it is impacting the players. When you see a guy like Russ Martin make idiot mistakes - it suggests there's something else going on.

Since we are probably stuck with Reyes. Tell him he has to learn how to play LF over the All Star break.

Classic ump show. This is a problem the MLB needs to address immediately - it seems like this is happening weekly now.. Like Zaun just said, why is the ump taking his mask off and approaching Bautista? He is the aggressor and is just trying to exasperate the situation.
