If they eat so much cheese that it warrants a trip to Moab to buy in bulk, they must poo once per week.

Some candy stores do - like the one in Banff.

Kind of related to cheese, but if you stock up on so much what do you do with it? When Philadelphia cream cheese was on sale once, I bought a crapload of it and but some of it in the freezer. When I thawed it out, it took on an utterly disgusting texture and I couldn't use it. Wondering if freezing other types of cheese yields better success.

Cheese is pretty good in the states. Not a lot of great varieties, but the Tillamook stuff from Oregon is nice.

my wife and i regularly freeze cheese

i've found that some cheeses work a lot better than others. cheddar and some mozzas will crumble a lot if it's been frozen

we regularly freeze pizza mozza and if you let it thaw in the fridge (as opposed to on the counter or microwave) it's great. i'm guessing it must be the extra moisture in the pizza mozza that keeps it from crumbling after being thawed

Can't cheese pretty much last forever? I know even if it gets mold all over, you can just cut off the moldy outside and the inside is fine. They could also just dip their cheese stock in wax which would let it be stored indefinitely

On the topic of US Cheese, if you ever find yourself in Eastern Washington, at trip to Pullman (home of Washington State University) will net you some Cougar Gold Cheese: https://creamery.wsu.edu/cougar-cheese/

As a bonus you can get some ice cream at Ferdinand's... yum.

I am not too sure. Some cheeses, like havarti have small holes bubbles throughout, so it's not as simple to scrape off the moldy sections. I haven't really had any major problems. I have a chunk of parmesan in the fridge that I have been using off and on for well over a couple of years, and generally cream cheese I have never had issues with if it hasn't been opened. I just bought too much cream cheese the one time, and thought stuffing it in the freezer would save fridge space and keep it fresh. If I were to bring back a lot of cheese from the states. I would want to be able to stash it away in the freezer rather than tying up space in the fridge.

What about fat free shredded cheese. I don't think I have seen any of that here.

Cheese without fat? How is that possible? Sounds double-plus ungood.

Some of these pop choices are available at the Vintage Soda Shop in Airdrie. $$ though. They're also starting to offer some US and/or discontinued candy/chocolate bars, kiddie cereals, and so on.

There is a shop in Kensigton that sells them, too. Got a Cherry Coke there. I think they have lots of other exotics, too. The Gummi Boutique.
