I'm still enjoying this anyway. The heat's getting turned up on everyone, and cracks are starting to show. I expect we're going to see a big meltdown or explosion with at least one (of not more) of these characters soon.

Agreed. I'm loving this season. It's unfairly being compared to the lofty status of season one which was arguably one of the greatest television series all time. I don't think this will attain those heights but on its own merit the series it's still superior than most TV. I'm not the biggest Tom Cruise fan but I always enjoy his movies as I purposely bypass the fact that he's pretty well the same character in every film and enjoy the film rather than focus on him. It appears some of you simply are having a difficult time getting past your personal disdain for some of the actors. That's your prerogative but why watch if you can't get past your hate for the actors? Vince Vaughn isn't going to magically not be Vince Vaugn by episode 5 or later.
Nope it's not perfect but it's still good entertainment.

I believe in the Jays.

That was a great episode. I really like Vaughn's character, and I think he's done a perfectly fine acting job. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the season.

I am a little lost plot-wise, but have been really enjoying the season so far.

I was soooo freakin bored by this season up until the shootout. And while that was exciting and tense, I can't see how it moves the glacial plot forward with all of the bad guys dead.

Not a bad episode overall. The plot could really use some tightening up, but at least there starts to be some idea that things might get somewhere. The firefight was nice, and I'm very intrigued by the story potential of that absolute cluster#### of an operation.
I've been enjoying the police stuff, but every episode makes me care less about Vince Vaughns character and his marriage troubles.

There was a line she delivered so badly, I cringed. I'm going to find it....
.....oh yeah, she says "A child's not grief" with all the emotion of someone declaring that a banana isn't ripe.
Actually, that whole scene was cringe-worthy.

Well, new episode last night and this thread is on the second page. I think that says it all. I'll stick with it to the end but it is definitely not holding my interest like last season. After last nights episode I was thinking "that's it?". Very slow and I found it was hard to follow the story line.

I thought last night's episode showed some good signs of these various threads coming together. I liked the revelation of Frank's involvement in "securing" the rail corridor land for the development, by poisoning it with his waste management company. It seems someone was content to use Frank and then force him out of the rewards - the mayor's son, the mayor, the Russians, and Frank's right hand man that he's having Velocoro tail all seem to be managing quite fine after the two month time jump.
Even bigger, though, was the revelation that Frank used Velocoro for his own means all these years, after feeding him a bogus name to take vengeance on for the rape of Velocoro's wife all those years ago.
It's also interesting that a missing girl, related only by the smallest thread to the showcased, featured case, features so prominently in both seasons.

Yeah last night was more of a connect the dots episode. Not sure what Frank what excuse Frank is going to have for misleading Ray. Maybe he wanted that guy to disappear and got Ray to do it for him.

Now Velcorro's loyalty lies where? He's got nothing. They even kicked him out of his city owned house.
That situation could make for some interesting developments in the last 3 episodes.
