At the deadline, Pittsburgh is on the bubble for a playoff spot. They trade their first round pick and Matta to Calgary for Giordano.
Pittsburgh's first game after the trade, Giordano, Crosby Malkin and LeTang are injured in a multiplayer collision and are out for the season(Giordano just breaks a finger - no long term effect).
Pittsburgh loses the remaining 25 games in a row and makes them eligible for a lottery pick. Flames win the lottery, draft first overall, and Giordano re-signs with Calgary as a UFA. Flames win 3 cups in a row starting the following season.

Plausible but bold prediction is Hamilton wins the Norris trophy.
Crazy prediction is that the Flames acquire UFA to be E. Staal at the deadline for a cup run.
