Japan should just walk off. This is now 75 minutes of playing out the clock

I repeat. Bob Hartley would have changed the goalie at 3-0

The good news is that all the goals have been world class. This would just be really uncomfortable if they were flukes.

Other interesting thing is that I thought Sasic of Germany had the Golden Boot locked up with 6 goals, but Lloyd now has 5 and we're 18 minutes in.

This is a Japan team that was dominated for a half by England. While the scoreline is a bit of a surprise, the domination is not.

First goal conceded by the US in something like 450 minutes.

Absolutely. But as someone who hates the American women's national team arguably as much as the Canucks, this is a nightmare.

Perfect...glad to see Solo not get another clean sheet or the record that the Germans had for goals against.

I'm Canadian so I was definitely cheering for Canada to win the whole thing. Living here in the U.S. though it's so amazing watching everyone so into it. Locally, everyone here in California seems to be tuning in. It's like Men's Olympic Hockey in Canada, that same atmosphere. I don't follow Women's Soccer other than the World Cup so I think that might be part of it (unlike hockey), and I've lived here now for 6 years, but I want the U.S. to win. In hockey it's different,
I love watching Canada beat the U.S. in the Gold Medal Game. Can never get tired of that. Was hoping for a Canada-USA final here with Canada winning but this is the next best thing for me. It's well deserved IMO, this US team is really good.

I think I've noticed a difference between the Men's and Women's game. Scoring from half in a World Cup final to put your country 4-0 up is basically permission for a player from the other team to snap you in the Men's game. Ending a World Cup Zizou-style.

For long-time Canadian footy fans, it's not. Maybe worse because at least a lot of Americans would say they won the hockey final rather than that ice hockey game.

That's what I meant. I only watch the World Cup and then I will forget about soccer for 4 years (in both men's and women's). I don't have that attachment that real fans do. So I understand how long-time fans might feel. That's like hockey (NHL, Olympics) and American football (NFL) for me.
