Yes, as in it's a possibility. And yes, it can be very bad for the Flames. Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.

So Gio's agent is doing what's best for his client and trying to get the best deal....... Terrifying

Agree to disagree I suppose. This is exactly how negotiations work.
I can't see the flames losing both Gio and Bouma because of their agent and you can.

Hearing that Micheal Grabner may be on the move from Isles. Good, speedy option for a team in need of wingers w/$3M cap hit next season

He is a good player. But we already have someone like Raymond who plays a similar game.

Millions yesterday said that Rich Winter will be the wild card in Gio's negotiations. And not in a good way. Couple that with the fact that the radios guys and Millions have not heard anything good surrounding Gio's negotations can defintely be a cause for concern.
But, please let's carry on with the blind faith that everything will be okey dokey.
I want Gio signed, but I don't think the GM and his team are much for being pushed around.
|
Why would anyone worry about this at this point. The odds are, he'll sign here, and we are a year away from him being a UFA, why the heck would anyone panic.
And, if things aren't going well later in the year, the Flames certainly won't lose him for nothing and would likely make out very well in the return on a trade for a 30 plus player.
I want him signed, but there is nothing but positives out of this for the Flames, one way or another. In fact the only thing to be worried about is that the Flames get too nervous and sign him for too much dough and term, that would be worse than having to trade him IMO.

You couldn't have bought a Raymond jersey.

I know it is Eklund but he mentioned the Blues might be shopping an Oshie/Shattenkirk package. How amazing would that be for the Flames to trade Hiller, Wideman, Granlund for that package? I know extremely far fetched but that would put this group over the top.
Blues could flip Elliot to the Oil so they can buyout Scrivens

Shattenkirk isn't going anywhere. Oshie might be.

I know he has his limitations, but the way Wideman reinvented himself this year combined with his ability to drive the offense, I would hate to see him go until it is absolutely necessary. The grass isn't always greener.
I do kind of wonder how guys like Wideman and Russel will react to going from basically top 2 Dmen for the stretch drive and playoffs to basically bottom 3 guys.
The minutes this year will be quite interesting.

Add 2 or 3 first round picks to that offer and they might start talking to you

Probably didn't need it's own thread so I thought I'd put it in here. Cundari signed with the Sharks today. One year, 2-way, 600k.

Heard from theScore that the Oilers are not done with their goalie situation and have shown interest in Ramo & Neuvirth. Chiarelli had made calls to Ramo after his signing with Calgary. With this in mind, could we potentially see a destination for Hiller as it seems like Edmonton is looking for a better option for a 1a/1b leaving Scrivens out.

That sounds like tampering to me. The Oilers should have to forfeit their first round pick in the most recent draft to the Flames.

Not likely...that would be grade A tampering.

Pretty sure hockey.modern meant before he signed with the Flames.
Anyhoo, I doubt the Flames trade Hiller to help a division rival bolster their goal tending situation unless it is for a severe overpayment.
