so I guess the Telegraph was wrong ...

Quote:
Chris Evans to lead new Top Gear line-up!

Everybody, we have some very big news! Yes, Chris Evans has signed a three-year deal to lead an all new line up for Top Gear.

And it's straight over to the man himself: "I'm thrilled, Top Gear is my favourite programme of all time. Created by a host of brilliant minds who love cars and understand how to make the massively complicated come across as fun, devil-may-care and effortless. When in fact, of course, it's anything but and that's the genius of Top Gear's global success.

"I promise I will do everything I possibly can to respect what has gone on before and take the show forward."

"And on that bombshell....I'm done with BBC Top Gear"

OK, I'll probably give it 5-6 episodes like I did with TG USA to give it a fair chance, but I'm not optimistic.

OTOH, 100% unfiltered Clarkson is terrible. I can't stand his solo DVD efforts - his stupidity schtick gets tiresome without James or Richard or yes, BBC Censors to counterbalance his antics.

Put all the elements together and you get perfection...

yep, I feel like most are going to be biased against but this could be a best of both worlds

were getting a Clarkson/Hammond/May show somewhere, with if the Netflix rumors are true even less interference than the BBC where it was minimal

and although it's less likely and depends on casting, new Top Gear might not suck

I still think it'll end up like a sort of UK version of Top Gear US. A good show, but a lot of it will feel forced and scripted because the lack of chemistry between hosts, and because of this it will just be made up of challenges and races.

A final episode of Top Gear starring Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May will air June 28.

Last episode was vintage top gear. I was laughing hysterically during the SUV-camper race.

We'll see these three soon enough. They're still in fine form.

Great episode.

Pretty crazy that it was such a low key episode. No fanfare. No drama.

Ended their era on a high note.

I hope they kickoff their netflix series with the Laferrari/918/P1 comp. I've been dying for that to go down. An no, the motor trend one isn't that great, they're porsche fanboys.

Anyways, decent send off. My favorite show has come to an end as we know it. Cannot wait for both House of Cars and to check out the new Top Gear.

Apparently they've signed with Amazon. Hard not to be disappointed seeing it's not available on the majority of Internet Tv boxes/smart TVs.... Never mind Canada.

Still awesome they're back though!

Amazon huh? Odd choice given Amazon's limited distribution on their video products. My guess it'll be heavily pirated.

Rogers and Shaw recently signed a deal to air original Amazon programming in Canada on Shomi:

http://business.financialpost.com/fp...ntent-on-shomi

If it is on Amazon in the US, it looks like it'll be on Shomi in Canada. So the good news is that we'll probably get it legally. The bad news is that it will likely require an extra subscription.

Amazon Prime is a good service, they want to compete with Netflix

with Top Gears reach worldwide I think they are hoping this is a big market entry property

The problem is those of us willing to pay for access in the rest of the world that is not the US, Britain.. have very little hope of seeing Netflix, Amazon anytime soon available in our countries.

This is why HBO was ideal and Amazon sucks, hell I have an amazon kindle and can't do jack sh*t with it besides loading the books on to it manually and never using the store, the apps, music or video services...
