So Frolik's number? Will he be forced to change from 67?

Whatever you say. You took a shot at me. I defended my prediction as being sound based on the evidence available at the time.

I then went on to say he isn't likely to defeat the odds three seasons in a row, giving you a chance to prove otherwise and you backed off completely.

A 20-25 goal outlook is an unbelievably timid prediction on a player that has already scored 22, and 31 goals in back to back seasons.

That looks like the prediction of someone that believes Monahan's shooting percentage was defying the odds again last season despite saying otherwise.

Who cares about Monahan's shooting percentage. This is a Frolik signing thread.

No.. that's someone who doesn't put his entire faith into one stat and understands there is more to hockey and scoring then just shooting percentage.

Back on topic like posted above however.

Man you sure seem to care a lot more about how Calgary's players are doing vs. your own team. I'd wager McDavid won't get 10 more points than Gaudreau did last season, and guarantee he's going to be a minus player (Gaudreau was +12).

How can anyone say this isn't a great signing? We had tons of cap room and I think he's a decent depth player. Really stoked for next season!
The only area Edm is ahead is with a new building. Hopefully we catch up in that area soon!

Great signing!

The player I most wanted in free agency and Treliving has again gone and got the job done because I thought he was headed for Montreal.

Even for the neutral it's hard not to take notice of what the Flames are doing.

Not sure why anyone (especially you of all people) is worried about the top Flames players shooting percentage.

Typical Oiler thinking, concerned with individual offensive totals.

How about a bet about the Oilers previous top overall picks beating their combined -48 from last season?

There are much more important stats to be concerned with.

The Oilers are still an awful defensive team and that doesn't looked to have changed. Both in their d-core or commitment to team defense.

Looking forward to all the hype ending in another season of bottom feeding.

WTF is an RGI?

Just an off-topic thought, but looking at Oil Stain's signature reminded me how awesome it is that Monahan has more 30-goal seasons than all of Eberle/Nugent/Hall/Yakupov combined. This despite Nugent being 2 years older, Hall 3 years older, and Eberle 5 years older.

An advanced stat made up by ricardodw that measures grit. It stands for Ricardo's Grit Index or something like that. It's basically a load of jibberish.

The more and more I read, and surf the net...the happier I am with this signing.

Versatile and smart, he became one of Maurice’s most loved players this past season. The coach called Frolik the tonic to struggling players. If a line needed a boost, Maurice would move Frolik to that group, and inevitably, there would be a surge in production.

"It’s his consistency shift to shift. He doesn’t take nights off and he doesn’t take shifts off," Maurice said of Frolik. "And there’s a personality part of that. He’s got a smile on his face most days. He enjoys playing the game and there’s not a lot of negative tension on the bench with him. If they have a shift that doesn’t go their way, he’s the let’s-go-get-’em-on-the-next-shift kind of player. That brings out the best in his linemates."
