Someone on HF made a good point, Boumas contract didn't get signed until August last year, and I've heard a few times that his agent is hard to deal with. Maybe hes playimg hardball again and that has something to do with it?
I'm sure it's nothing but thst rumour scares me. I love Bouma and every time I get a Flames jersey it's that players last season here.

Rich Winter, the one and the same rep for Gio. By his hand alone I can see the Flames lose out on those two players.

Craig Custance @CraigCustance
Spoke w/Kevin Shattenkirk's agent Jordan Neumann who says there's no truth that Shattenkirk is being dealt.

Okay, sure thing. Go back read about 3 or 4 pages back in the Gio thread.
Millions yesterday said that Rich Winter will be the wild card in Gio's negotiations. And not in a good way. Couple that with the fact that the radios guys and Millions have not heard anything good surrounding Gio's negotations can defintely be a cause for concern.
But, please let's carry on with the blind faith that everything will be okey dokey.
I want Gio signed, but I don't think the GM and his team are much for being pushed around.

I don't think they have the assets for Hudler anymore.

9 million for the first 2 or 3 years of a deal isn't horrible, but if he wants an AAV of 8+ million, that's pretty hard to swallow.

Come on man....yes Winter is a pitbull in negotiations. but that doesn't mean he isn't just as likely to agree to terms with Calgary as any other team.
Also, Giordano has final and complete say in where he signs next. If he wants to be in Cgy.....he will be in Cgy. And with a lot of money on his new deal.
Its not blind faith to believe that a deal gets done regardless of the agent, because its what the player has said himself.
Same can be said of Bouma...only Bouma has zero leverage in comparison to Gio.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
Jim Rutherford announces on TSN he is hoping to add another piece. He's in the market for a 4th line center.
Maybe not a winger.

Did I say it was going to end badly? No. I'm saying there's an equal possibility that negotiations can end up badly. To not acknowledge that potential is blind faith.
We'll see but it's not off to a great start.

We got a contract done with Gio when he signed his last extension didn't we?
His agent will negotiate tough with every team in the league. Gio wants to be here, the Flames want him. They will work something out.
Yes, is going to be expensive, but he was arguable the best defenseman in the world last year. Those kinds of players are not cheap. With the addition of Hamilton and Frolik it would appear the flames are ready to make a big push towards becoming a contender. Losing Gio would go against this.
It will be an expensive, complicated extension, but I am confident that they will find something that works for both Gio and the team.

You said you could see us losing both Gio and Bouma because of Rich Winter.
Yeaaaaaah I would say that's pretty bad for the Flames.

No worries here. Gio will sign with the flames, he's the captain. Not going to another team to be a back ground player.
