Would put a cherry on the top of a great offseason if Treliving off loads Raymond on someone

And you pay a premium for UFAs at the low end of the age range. Surprised they don't like it. Seems about 500-750K below expectations.

Frolik gives the Flames excellent versatility. The price tag is large. I think he is a real good fit

Good catch, make that:
Summer of 2016 = $16.3M off the books
Summer of 2017 = $16.07M off the books

17 NHL capable forwards, 8 NHL capable defense, 3 NHL capable goalies
Plus prospects pushing at both forward and defense....
Ton of depth, gotta think Treliving will start stockpiling 2016 picks at some point.

Good price. Term is a bit long, but for a guy his age I'm ok with that as it keeps the cost down. Not just a guy with cup experience, but a guy who can both help drive possession numbers and help out on the back end, which is exactly the kind of player we needed. Treliving has knocked it out of the park so far.
Just need to dump Raymond and Hiller and I think it's a 10/10 slam dunk summer.

For years with the Stamps we called Huff a fricken wizard for getting the players that he wanted for reasonable contracts.
Now we have two fricken wizards in Calgary.
In fact we should rename Hogwarts the Calgary sporting club.

TSN panel just trying to soften the blow for the Winnipeg fans who's regional rights they own and actually show their games, have to pander to their audience.

I'm not a fan of this signing. 5 years / 4.3m AAV for a winger who averages 15 goals/22 assists a season in his career? He sure as hell better be an intangibles monster.
...Seems like a knee-jerk reaction to the Flames being a poor possession team. Even though it doesn't solve Burke/Treliving's self-induced issues of such Possession Gods as Smid, Engelland, Bollig, Raymond, and Colborne.

After the Frolik deal, the #Flames have roughly $7.1 million in cap space. Bouma, Jooris, Byron, Ferland all unsigned RFA's.
