Flames re-sign Ramo to 1 yr deal ($3.8 mil)

Hearing that the Oilers have kicked the tires on UFA goalies Ramo and Neuvirth... but I think Ramo more likely to re-sign with Flames

Wouldn't surprise me, not much left out there for him that looks better than Calgary. If they do I hope they can get something for Hiller in a trade. It's what I've wanted all along.

I would be okay with that as long as the term and dollars are decent.
If we need to give 4 years and $4+M then just keep Hills and Orts and address the goalies later

Not surprised. The goalie market's been dried up, and this still leaves the door open to trading Hiller and running with a Ramo/Ortio tandem. Hopefully the $ and term are reasonable.

If Ramo is re-signed then it's likely Hiller will be traded and we run with Ramo/Ortio this year.
I can't see Ortio spending the season in Stockton. He was fantastic in his call up and has nothing but praise from management. He's ready to go. And frankly, I trust him in net far more then I would trust Hiller in net.

Would much rather run with Hiller/Ramo/Ortio than just Hiller/Ortio. In the latter, you're one injury away from a very bad situation.

Good. A combo of Ramo/Ortio is still the best way forward for this team.
Of all the good that Treliving has done the last week, I just didn't understand all the rumours of going after middling goalies, when there was a pretty good combination at home that wouldn't cost anything but salary.

One year is perfect. Motivation for a long term deal.
Hiller won't be happy riding the pine when he's up for a contract himself.
Trade coming I think.

Bewildering. The goalie UFA market was very weak this year, he could have gotten a longer term than one year. What the hell is Treliving putting in the punch?

I'm not a huge fan of Ramo/Hillier but after Dubnyk went back to Minnesota I wasn't a big fan of what else was out there. One more year of the pair are is okay, or trade Hillier if you think Ortio is up to it.
