Isn't that a good thing, considering he would no longer be in our conference and we'd only need to play him twice a year?
Saad is a stud though, I can't believe they're going to trade him before Sharp, Versteeg, or Bickell.

So is it Dano and Anisimov then?
That's actually a good return.
Chicago needs some centers with Richards and Vermette gonzo, and Dano looked great as 20 year old rookie.

True. Guess we'd rather have him in the east.

Unfortunately Flames were probably not really in this. Chicago likely wanted Saad in eastern conference

This seems like a good, fair trade for both teams.

Bad trade for Chicago, Saad is a beaut. I guess the rumors of him only wanting 4m weren't true.

Aaron Portzline @Aportzline
#CBJ acquire Brandon Saad and two prospects from #Blackhawks for Anisimov, Dano, Morin, Troop and a 4th rd pick in 2016

Chicago's window is still open, and they can use young players more than 2016 draft picks, which is what they would have gotten if they didn't match an offer sheet which was likely on it's way.

Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
Morin, Tropp, Anisimov and Dano and 4th in 2016 for Saad, Paliotta and Alex Broadhurst. CBJ-CHI deal.
Jackets also got Paliotta? wow nice deal for the Jackets.
However pretty funny as Paliotta almost hit UFA until Bowman convinced him to sign

I don't like that for Chicago at all. Saad is a beauty.

This is actually a pretty massive trade.
This is by far the most interesting off-season in a long while.

Dano looked pretty good in limited NHL time so not bad for the Hawks to at least get a good young player in return.

Not a bad return, but Saad is a great young player. They should have tried harder to get rid of Bickel/Sharp instead.

Offer sheet threats are real. Anyone hear what kind of term and price Tarasenko is looking for? I'd move Heaven and Earth to lock him down.
