We actually had an amazing little cloud system run through. Drizzled most of the way up, and we stopped for lunch (before the point we could see this side of the pass) and the rain broke. Ate lunch and started moving again and it just timed perfectly. These clouds rolled in on us and right through the section we were hiking. Hiked part way down with them coming in on us, then hiked through them. Was disappointed I just had my point & shoot but got about 60 pics, some pretty decent (IMO). Touched this one up and played around with it in Lightroom, but I'll throw some of the untouched ones up later this week.

And yes Regulator, I see the flair off the street lights, new system, missed the Image Stabilization clicker on the lens.

Don't mind the effect thought to be honest. Turned out okay.

got this one tonight of my truck....

i wish my tripod shadow wasn't in the photo, but not much i could do in terms of my setup/location/trying not to get people in the pic and still get my truck and the fireworks

i also got these - they were just free hand and i didn't have the time to do my normal moon shot setup with the tripod/manual focus and all that fun stuff.....

The only thing missing is Elliot on his bike with E.T. in the basket. Nice photo.

Managed to snap this on my cell phone (LG G3) in here in Richmond crossing the Gilbert bridge by YVR at 5 am. Damn these phone lenses are good these days. (Spoiler for size)

Spoiler!

Wife and kids are out of town visiting the in-laws, so I had a very rare opportunity to do something this weekend....take a solo road-trip into cowboy country. No car seats, no strollers, no jingle bells CD's....just me, my car, and a camera bag.

What a beautiful province we live in.

Been meaning to post on here for a while. Back in January we were lucky enough to go on our dream trip to Antarctica. I thought since it's going to be hot the next few days These might cool things down a little.

For those who ever thought of going, do it. Amazing place and don't let the trip there scare you off.

Is it crazy expensive to go there?

Most expensive trip we've been on...but also the most memorable. The memories per dollar are one of the lowest of any vacation. Hopefully we can go back in a few years.

You did it, you totally nailed it! That is the best way to describe travel as it should be.

As someone who works in this business I can tell you I can appreciate this kind of statement.

These pics are from my personal favorite 'memories per dollar' trip :

The other concept, when you're on vacation, no matter how much the museum or whatever costs, or how long you have to wait, if you want to see it, just go. Chances are you'll never be there again.
