Would have been a much better signing had Bouwmeester's talents not been stifled.

Hamilton will fit into Hartley's system like a glove. This signing will end up being a huge bargain IMO.

Jaybo was good enough for the greatest team canada defence off all time the year after he left Calgary...maybe we were a little hard on him and his play had more to do with the ####ty players around him

Well I didn't think I needed to be this obvious.

Subban isn't very good at playing defense. His defensive game is average at best.

JayBo played on a stacked Blues team last year and still only managed 2 goals and 13 points. 0 points in the playoffs.

Make no mistake, one of the major reasons those Flames teams sucked was because of Bouwmeester himself.

Bouwmeester had a bad year, but he also had a great 2013-14 season.

And those Flames teams sucked because of Brent Sutter.

I've read that he was playing with some nagging injuries last season, and the year before he had 37 points on that same stacked Blues team.

I'm no JBo fan, but he was misused his first 3 years here under Butter, thank goodness Hartley showed up and salvaged his career enough that he could be dealt for at least a 1st round pick.

Anyways, go Dougie!

So Hamilton took a discount cause he really wanted to be here and play with Connor, magic all ready working.

I hope he comes out of the gates strong and doesn't have a down year which can be typical of a guy being traded and starting a new big deal.
They did some damage in the playoffs without Gio or Hamilton. The roster is looking pretty good and the cap situation is fantastic.

It would be interesting to hear his thoughts about Hartley practices in the coming season. It seems like Hartley actually pushes them hard and the conditioning really helps all the players a lot in the long run.

The atmosphere in the Saddledome during the late season and the playoffs gets noticed by players around the league and can be a small factor in piquing their interest in looking at Calgary.
