When Bouwmeester signed in CGY after the trade: 6 x 6.6.
Hamilton: 6 x 5.75. Much better number to work a trade out if a trade were to happen in this day and age.
Bouw's was a boat anchor then, Hamiltons now is very average.

Bouwmeester was misused by Butter.
End of story.
Would have been a much better signing had Bouwmeester's talents not been stifled.
Hamilton will fit into Hartley's system like a glove. This signing will end up being a huge bargain IMO.

And we have $34.275M worth of expiring contracts between now and 2018-19. Only two players in that group I would consider retaining (Hudler and Russell).
Dare I say it, but the Flames might be in the most advantageous position contractual position of any team in the cap's history. There isn't a single bad contract on this team, and even the ones people don't like aren't a headache.
Unreal. This doesn't feel like the sort of thing that happens to us.

Is Dougie is legal name or nickname? If so, why does everything have him listed as Dougie not Douglas?
Should it not be Douglas?
At what point does Dougie become to old and which to Doug, next contract?
