Really surprised at Ramage. Doesn't mean he's gone, though, I suppose.

Surprised with no QO for Ramage. Surprised with about the QO for Byron and Reinhart.

That Iggy trades looks even worse now.
I'm a little surprised with the Byron QO. I don't feel like he fits this roster at all anymore.

Yeah only surprising one there is Ramage.. Especially since he didn't look too bad in his cup of coffee.

Ramage is 24 years old. Shouldn't be much of a surprise.. once you hit that age if you aren't knocking on the NHL's door, you aren't going to be landing a contract.

Yeah surprised by Ramage at first but he is 24 years old and we have a logjam in Stockton.

Reinhart yes but nobody should be surprised that Hartley's favorite utility forward got qualified.

Color me shocked by none of this.
None of the three will be NHL players. Outside shot for Hanowski IMO but not on this team.

Just curious, what would the QO to Ramage have to be? Perhaps they believe they can sign him to better terms?

I think with Ramage, they just don't have enough defence spots for him in Stockton and his chances of being an NHL regular are disappearing.
Acolatse is in much the same position.

Hanowski hasn't looked bad in the A but his foot speed hasn't gotten good enough.

If you look at the Iginla trade as strictly a player for player swap, absolutely agree.

However, if you look at the Iginla trade as the kickoff of the culture change that has transitioned the Flames from a disinterested, underachieving group of veterans to a hard working overachieving group of young stars then it really doesn't look that bad.

I choose to look at the latter.

Phew, glad Byron got a QO.
I maintain he's the most effective 13th forward in the league. He will realistically be used in 3 on 3 OT this season.

Flames management consider Paul Byron (and Bouma) to be the team's best penalty killing forwards. I would've been super surprised if Byron wasn't qualified.
