Doesn't know much.
Slowly and steadily becoming a steady D man.
Won't say much more because he really doesn't know more.

Have to think the Flames relationship with Loob gave them a bit of an inside track here.
Crazy to think as the President of Farjestad that Loob is advocating he comes to North America, and was that candid in his opinion of Kylington not getting a fair shake (it was his team) and development this year.
Seems to be in-line with my thoughts on Kylington. Was trying to do too much offensively in his draft year, which is hard for a 17 year old playing in a men's league, and caused some of the difficulties.
Would love to get him to North America and see a plan like:
2015/2016: CHL
2016/2017: AHL
2017/2018: AHL/NHL
How does the import draft work? Could he play for the Hitmen if we took him in the import draft? Looks like we have the 57th overall pick so he would have to fall to there.

I didn't say Burke sucks. I just like Loob and he's done an amazing job with his club.

I was actually surprised to hear Loob say that NA is the best way to go for Oliver. For a guy that bounced around from his team he's really pumped on him. Also interesting the getting out of SWE is the best thing for him because he won't get the stability he really needs there.

It's ironic how we endlessly discussed the merits of Kylington before the draft, how much of an enigma he was, and eventually it seemed like nobody on here wanted to take a risk with him in the first round. In the end we never ended up with a 1st round pick, yet still draft him in the 2nd.
Seems like he was just destined to be drafted by us somewhere.

Great choice for CGY.
Sign him right away and bring him to NA.
Thinks the AHL is where he needs to be.
Best area for him to grow.
Could develop quick.
Needs to get out of SWE, not getting a fair shake.

Thanks for your series of posts about Loob's view of Kylington. They should put to rest a lot of the unfounded rumours circulating about the kid. Was Loob on 960?

Yes he was. Great interview too. Went on after about the rise of the Swedish d men since Lidstrom and how there's some amazing ones coming up through the pipeline.

These faller picks are always interesting to see.
They are always popular with fans as prospects that were previously projected to go high in the draft are usually seen as having more talent then other players picked in their range. I think the familiarity with the prospects name helps fans think the pick is safer then perhaps it might be.
I wonder if anyone has done any kind of research to see if faller picks turn out at a higher or lower rate then other players picked in their range.
I suspect its about the same, but the results could be surprising.

What's the transfer agreement between the SHL and NHL? I'm curious as to what the buy out cost of his A.I.K contract would be.

That'd be great if the Flames signed him and brought him over to Stockton.
Might be their plan too, seeing as they just let two young Dmen go, and OK playing the right side would be a perfect fit down there right away.

Brandon Saad immediately comes to mind.

Not sure as the new one hasn't been published, but the previous one was $250k transfer fee for any contract taken.

How close is this guy to nhl readiness?
Hamilton acquisition but Calgary definitely need another young defender to take a veterans job in the next 1.5 seasons. Preferably sooner.
