This team is likely a year of development away from being a contender if we pick up Kessel.

Is Calgary even on Kessel's list of teams?

Really doubt Kessel would waive to go to another Canadian team, he never liked the spotlight on him so I bet he goes to a small hockey market.

2015/2016 Trade Speculation and Rumors
Not interested in any of the UFAs if Frolik is looking for both money and term. Kessel is an easy pass.
Of the players that are speculated to be available through trade, Oshie is at the top of my list. He would be the perfect addition to this roster.

I imagine any trade for Kessel would not occur until after he gets his $4M signing bonus, when ever that is

Would he really be on the spotlight when we have Gaudreau, Monahan, Hamilton, Bennett, Brodie, and Giordano? He'd flourish under us, the Toronto media was atrocious because they always want drama. He'd be a great complimentary piece at 6m (which is a steal). I'm just not sure we should be the team willing to pay that price for him. The only thing I hate is his term. If his term was 2 years less, I'd take him with his 8m cap hit.

He has Montreal as one of the teams he'd go to so doubt he's worried about the spotlight/media attention.

He does like Harvey's though. Is the spotlight worth putting up with to get his hands on one of those flame grilled angus burgers, with his choice of poutine? Sure he can get it on Canadian road trips, but it's not the same.

Poirier, 1st, Seiloff for Kessel, 2 mill retained. Would look really good with Mony and Johnny.

I'd really like Kessel on the team at a reduced contract but Porier is someone I wouldn't want to trade. I think if it was Klimchuck and another prospect and maybe a second.
I think if they were to eat north of 3 mil, I'd give them what they want.

No. It would not have been smart before and now would be a horrible idea with the Hamilton acquisition and what he's going to command. This has been beaten to death in multiple threads, I wish it would die.

Oh no - is it time to short Harvey's?
Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger 7m7 minutes ago
Whispers of Phil Kessel returning to Toronto in July, perhaps, to work with Gary Roberts. Sounds like a good plan.

I am astounded that, only now, he is doing this.

If the Sharks were targeting Hiller. I wonder if a guy like Danill Tarasov would be available.

He'll make his decision on which team to get traded to based on the HPSKM stat
Harvey's per KM2
