I posted it half-jokingly in another thread, but after seeing Lucic and Hamilton get shipped out it would no longer surprise me. The Oilers could make a package around that and send Scrivens out for loose change.

Traded next years first already in the trade for Sejkera.

I thought the issue the Kings were having with getting Jones signed is that he didn't want to be stuck as the backup behind a goalie that the team was committed to long term. Rask is signed for another 6 seasons.

Good point, so maybe Rask is on the block... or maybe they're flipping Jones

Seems like a bit of an overpayment for Lucic. He's not bad by any means, obviously. Maybe I'm just measuring against the Hamilton trade too much.

So the Flames get Hamilton when Edmonton had the better package (if they were willing to give up Nurse too), and LA pays up for a pending UFA that they likely can't re-sign next year.
Great day to be a Flames' fan.

Makes sense in the Lucic thread.

How does LA fit this under their cap? More moves must be coming as I don't see a Richards buy out helping all that much.
I also think that is a lot for Lucic and his salary. But he slots into LA's top two lines some where so it could work out really well for them.

What LA gave up for Lucic is almost equal to what Calgary gave up for Hamilton. Hilarious.

What in the actual hell is happening in Boston? They ship out Hamilton, a future franchise D,, for salary relief and then use that space to re-sign McQuaid and eat salary on Lucic? I honestly do not understand this from their perspective at all.
