You best believe Edmonton is trying to package that 16th overall pick + for Hamilton.

My thoughts exactly. I would be just fine if the + was Klimchuk and one of our 2nds. Might have to do a higher value asset to get it done, but I think that's a fair price when you consider the salary relief that Boston would get as well.

Thing is i havn't seen McDavid play. Just highlight clips vs non NHL oponents. I got agree with Polak on this one. Not because i think Gaudreau is better, but because i just don't know. There's a pile of hype, but i have nothing to base a decision on.
isn't it still possible if not plausable that he never lives up to the hype?

That's an easy decision but I think Boston will definitely see better offers than that.

If Hamilton doesn't get traded, he'll just get an offer sheet but say he's traded to the oilers, can someone still offer sheet him?
That would be great to see the oilers give up a lot to get him and then someone else sign him to an offer they can't match lol.

Still think Edmonton can easily outdo us in any trade bids. 16th + Yakupov/Draisaitl > 15th + Kimchuk/Poirier.

CGY has fully entered the race to acquire Dougie Hamilton from BOS and may be a top contender to get him. #TSN

If the Bruins aren't in win now mode, what are they doing exactly? They're in a whole lot of cap trouble if they're rebuilding. Gio for Hamilton kind of makes sense, but can the Flames really trade their Norris contending captain? What effect does that have on the core? Would almost rather give Hamilton an offer sheet than trade Gio. Could potentially trade Gio for a 1st at the trade deadline next year if the Flames aren't in playoff contention.

The only way I can see Flames getting this done is 2015 1st, 2016 1st, and a good prospect. That'd be a steep price to pay, but may not be too bad either. I'd be on the fence on that one.

I would love this for the Flames but I don't think they could match what another team (like the Coilers) could trade for him. Hopefully Treliving is on the phone though. Adding a young D-man like that to this team would essentially setup a strong young core in every position to progress together for years.

It'd cost an arm and a leg for sure, but Hamilton is the kind of player where I'd have no problem with that. Adding him to the D corps would be amazing.
