The SJ, Fla and Dallas picks would be 9, 11 or 12.
Proven young D-man for a pick where you get someone like maybe Werenski? Hmmmm....

Especially considering he will most likely re-sign with the Wild. They are still talking contract according to tweets I've read earlier.

Could be a 2016 1st as well. Might be why they aren't jumping all over it.

True. That really would be a Boston leak.

Darren Dreger @DarrenDreger
NYR are looking for the best overall package, even though a 1st round pick for Talbot is attractive.
|
Just can't see this being real. Excluding the Flames and the Oilers - the Sharks pick is 9th overall, Florida is 11th and Dallas is 12th. No way they are offering up one of those picks for Talbot. Perhaps someone is offering up a 2016 pick, but I doubt it.
EDIT: and a whole conversation a few posts up covered this while I was typing.

The Gm that offered a 1st round pick for Talbot should be relieved if his duties before he makes any other mistakes.

Disagree. Dismissing Talbot as a "backup" is just looking at the situation blindly. Who was he backing up? How did he perform while he was backing him up?
He looks to be a #1 goalie playing behind the 2nd best goalie in the league.

You are not alone, I doubt Treliving gives up first, but I'm scared too.

He certainly played like a number one when the King went down for a while.

If Sather can get a 1st plus for Talbot, he's a magician.

if you look at his NHL numbers, they're outstanding.
There is a reason why GMs are in a bidding war for him. They're not all idiots who just want to overpay for a "backup" like some people seem to think they are.

I don't like this at all, why do we all of a sudden need goalies. Ramo didn't lose us the series, our small decimated d core did. The goalie tandem worked great I don't see why we don't just go with exactly the same as last year and wait for one of our prospects to become the #1. Hell, Ortio might steal the spot this season.
The whole thing is very fishy. What's the obsession with trading Hiller and then getting a new goalie? We have 3 prospects... please no Treliving, please. Minnesota and New York didn't win the Cup with their elite goaltenders. Chicago did with their well built team and near average goalie.

He got Ryan McDonagh for a 7M Scott Gomez. I think he's already a friggin' sorcerer.

Just like the Oilers liked the idea of Scrivens. Trading for goalies coming out of LA and Arizona is a hefty gamble given the nature of their systems.

I'm guessing he is looking for something like what the Sen's received, a 1st and a cap dump.

Larry Brooks @NYP_Brooksie
Rangers have not been offered 9th, 11th or 12th overall pick straight up for Talbot. NYR would have to give up more...
