Can't believe Boeser & Svechnikov weren't on their radar for pick 15. Will these two be complaining about going 'off board' if/when we pick one of those two?

I admit Meier would be tough to pass on at 15, but I doubt he'll be on the board anyway.

Every year around this time, we turn a section of our site over to our scouts in what we call our #ScoutSeries. Basically it breaks down to one player who impressed, one who disappointed and one who surprised from each of our scouts this season.

We've launched those articles, and are drumming up a bit of discussion on Twitter (@FCHockey) using the hashtag #ScoutSeries.

For those curious in the articles, here we are:

Zenon Herasymiuk (WHL)
Marco Bombino (Finland)
Mikael Hedberg (Sweden)
Colin Mayberry (USA)
Donesh Mazloum (WHL)
Scott Palmer (OHL)
Guillaume Gervais (QMJHL)
Daniel Deschenes (OHL)
Patrik Hansen (Sweden)
Justin Frosese (WHL)

Damn, just by watching Boeser's highlights, he has an NHL shot already.

So is Boeser pronounced like 'Boozer' or 'Bow-ser' (like bow and arrow'). Or maybe like Bowser? Boozer would be best.

Actually pronounced 'Beser' from everything I have seen and in interviews.

Is there a good list that has the prospects, rankings, heights and all that info that can be printed out just so it's easier to follow and whatnot.

Who really cares as IMO they are no more knowledgeable as your average fan. I know Loubardias watches a lot of junior but he's never met a talented junior player that he didn't like and seems to fall in love with the flavour of the week.

Well, Boeser is ranked more than 10 spots behind our pick on McKenzie's list.

Thanks so much for this. Notable that your OHL scouts agreed that Hayden McCool disappointed and Zach Senyshyn surprised. Also a couple of your WHL scouts agreed Gabrielle disappointed. High praise also for Konecky, Merkley, Provorov and DeBrusk.

I also liked that a couple of the FC guys mentioned Wagner from the Pats as being the biggest surprise this year. He's ranked in the top 60 by them now. I wonder where Calgary has this kid ranked?

If you believe all the emphasis that Treliving put on having speed as well as size, I imagine he is on the radar for a 2nd round pick.

He's all over the first round depending on what list you read as THN has him right around where the Flames pick. The only list that really matters is the Flames at the end of the day. I just hope they go BPA and not defenseman because it fills an organizational need.

Yes, and that's a good thing.

Did someone forget to tell Tampa that they're a legit Cup contender and went to the finals?

9 picks with at least one in every round.

Yzerman will probably keep that team at or near the top for a very long time.

I may have missed this somewhere but a great read on Brock Boeser:

Mckenzie also had Shinkaruk ranked much higher than Poirier, would you be happier if the Flames had stuck with Mckenzie list?

Reading all the scouting reports on Meier and Boeser, there really isn't much difference between them. Boeser actually sounds better as there are no questions about his character and commitment.

I'm always cautious about offensive numbers from the Q. Every time I watch highlights or games from that league, it's like watching the NHL from the 80's. you have really good players dominating against really bad players and bad teams. The parody and competitiveness always looks more even in the O and W.

Boeser has an outstanding pedigree and stats. He was a top scorer in the USHL, which is a really good league and he has been a star at international tournaments.

I honestly think Meier is ranked higher because he's closer to plying in the NhL as Boeser is going to take the college route. But ceiling wise, Boeser sounds like he has the higher upside especially when people are likening him to Bossy and Hull. A few scouting services have also indicated concern over Meier's upside and think he is more of a cmplimentsry player.
