@SWhyno: Hartley says Jack Adams a reflection of Flames. "Apart from my wife I don't think there's anyone who comes to the Saddledome to watch me."

Congratulations Bob!

It would have been a travesty if he didn't win it this year. Absolutely well-deserved. Thanks for a fantastic year Bob, it was fun!

Well deserved for Bob. He's going to have a long line of young coaches looking at what he did in Calgary and trying to emulate.

Why did randy Carlyle get a vote?

I’m always amazed these sportscasters and announcers can call the game with McDavid’s **** in their mouths all the time.

I really think rogue voters like that ought to have their voting credentials stripped, especially if there is a pattern year after year...

I assume he gets a bonus for this? That will help offset his fines.

Beat writers looking to suck up in the future to the coach/organization?

Good for Hartley...the way he's adapted. Brought in as a veteran coach, and as his pal, as a last ditch effort from the previous GM, to try and get the last out of the vets.
Took said GM to be gone for a full year to get the organization stable fully and the expectations of the players properly communicated.

I don't think he's an easy coach to play for most of the time but, like Sutter, the results have proven themselves out, at least this year. He's got younger guys who listen and he has responding to the stick he uses fairly frequently to get them going (yes along with fitness, and a lot of other intangibles). Should be interesting going forward how that plays out...if he softens and/or if the team continues to respond to his harder than most style.
