Not to mention Palat, Johnson and Kucherov aren't getting nearly paid what they're worth.

Yeah not to derail too much but there are some very tough decisions coming very soon.

With the emergence of their triplets, you'd have to think that they're going to prioritize re-signing Hedman. Stamkos could be the biggest name to hit the trade and/or free agent market is a very long time.

Could be why the Leafs are trying so hard to unload Kessel's contract as they are probably looking to piece together another monster deal like they gave Babcock. I realize it's probably Toronto generated stuff but there's always been links to him and the Leafs and every once in a while the come true as in the case of Babcock. Certainly the way Cooper handled his ice time in the final you can make a case that Stamkos may not be married to the Lightning long term.

			I can't see it.
Babcock rumours and Stamkos going FA are two entirely different things.

If there is any chance at all that they can't re-sign him, they would get a boat-load of gold for him in a trade at the deadline.

Teams struggling to stay above the cap floor can easily remedy that by taking on cap strapped team's contracts.

Trades are going to fly fast and heavy this year. I hope the Flames can at least get in on one good one.

I hope to see offer sheets fly fast and heavy this year and watch teams be in cap hell for years to come, or draft hell for years to come.

And the Flames sit back and develop their guys and build a champion properly.

Absolutely, but at some point you gotta take some risks (not saying now is the time for the Flames) and pull the trigger on a big trade or big ufa signing.

Arizona is a prime candidate to trade for Savard and Pronger's contracts.
both have a ~$4 mil cap hit and actual salary of around $500k for two more years.

Why Engelland? And honestly, even Bollig? Both did just fine in the last portion of the season and the playoffs.

they also only have 11 on the roster currently. They may not be in as much trouble as the cap space number shows. clearly got some positions to fill.
