On another site I saw him traded for Tarasenko. He was also traded for Okposo + Pulock. Here is worth the same as Kessel.
He is worth a lot. Both to the Flames or whatever team we trade him for. Last season certainly upped his value. But he isn't worth that much.

I also don't think the TO fans seem to understand that we all watch the Leafs. We don't really have a choice.
Not even for free. We already have average 35 goal scorer in Monahan and 30 goal scorer Gaudreau. And another 40 from Hudler we should be all set without Kessel.
|
you should do some more research and find a list of players who have done the same by 27 years old over the past 10-20 years. I bet it's pretty small.
30-35 from Monahan Gaudreau seem plausible, but 40 from Hudler is ridiculous. He's 31. There's a better than good chance his decline starts in the next year or two.

Let's either rename this thread 'Toronto is no good' or keep it to trade speculation and rumors please..

You know that text in green means it's a sarcastic comment, right?
On a different note. Does anyone know if Treliving is blowing up the phones seeing what kind of trades are possible with the Yotes? I could see us shipping lots of our extra centres and prospects there. Not sure what would be possible to come back though.

You seemed to have missed both points of my post in one fell swoop.
To the first part, I never said it wasn't good, in fact I DID say it was pretty darn good. The point is that it's not the 35-40 goal average which you have personally spouted multiple times here and we have seen many other TO fans quote.
To the second part, the green text means I was being facetious and exaggerating the average goal totals of our star players, ala, the Kessel legends. You're right, 40 goals for Hudler IS ridiculous. It is also ridiculous for Kessel, especially to include it in his AVERAGE, seeing as how he's never actually scored that high...

That's very true. Kessel doesn't do that, either.
He's a good offensive player with an expensive contract that a lot of teams can't take on. Leaf fans can tell us all day long how awesome he is but it deosn't change the fact his contract will be tough to move.

yeah. I know. It was not a very good attempt at sarcasm as the first two points were pretty realistic.
Monahan and Gaudreau seem like two players who could be consistently in the 25-35 goal range. not sure why he felt the need to put that in green. My point about Hudler was an honest one. His decline is going to start fairly soon. Flames would be wise to start shopping him now despite his current shinny toy status with flames fan base.

From the guy who's only here to talk about how great Kessel is. Nah. You've clearly demonstrated your lack of any knowledge about the player outside of things you can look up on stats websites.

With the claim of the average goal totals, I'm not sure even this is happening.

and what is it exactly that you 'know' about this person aside from what's said and published about him in the media?
have you ever spoken with him? do you know any of his teammates or friends?
what sort of first hand knowledge do you know of him that you can share with us? please, by all means, I would love to hear more about it.

Jeff Paterson @patersonjeff
So Joacim Eriksson signs in Russia. Made one #NHL appearance -- gave up 6 in #Canucks 9-1 drubbing in Anaheim
Jeff Paterson @patersonjeff
If #Canucks peddle a goalie, with Erkisson gone, Joe Cannata will go from 5th to 3rd on depth chart. One call away from #NHL
Jeff Paterson @patersonjeff
If #Canucks trade Lack, they're an injury to Miller away from Markstrom/Cannata as #NHL tender tandem

for a guy that says he grew up in Calgary and still believes it is in the middle of the prairies ... well all credibility goes out the window. just my 2 cents from the middle of the prairies, actually.

To be fair, they have to trade one of the three and if one subsequently gets injured they will be down to someone/Cannata regardless. Still, it's a pretty hilarious situation for a team that had Luongo and Schnieder only two years ago.

from a cultural standpoint, it is the middle of the prairies. If you have ever been anywhere outside of Calgary, you would get that. Or Saskatchewan.....Calgary must feel like 'The Big City' for you.

spoken like a true Torontonian! Toronto is the centre of the universe and everyplace else sucks compared to Toronto!
Let's not get into what city is better, it'll just get messy.
