For those who are using the firmware version YNG1TAS17L, they can download the smaller 20MB OTA zip file to get update. Users can easily install this file to their devices using an internal SD card. The update will then be flashed through stock recovery.

Manually downloaded the 20MB file as I had that firmware. Just flashed and going through reboot. As it has become hotter out, my touchscreen responsiveness issues have gotten worse.
I am hopeful, but not entirely confident, this will help.

Based on the URL, I keep reading this as if you're so frustrated with the phone, you're seeking religion to resolve it.

The patch is very good actually.
I have not had to reboot the phone due to unresponsive screen/ghost touches since installing, where previously I might have had to sometimes several times a day (either after using in bright sun or after being in pocket for extended periods).
Although, it is no longer as easy to read in direct sunlight, where before it was perfect, I gladly accept that tradeoff.

^ have invites even gone out yet? I thought they were just announcing the phone on July 27th, and then it would not be released for a couple weeks still?

Invites are going to start being handed out on August 11th. Apparently early supporters and active forum members will be getting invites first. I would hope that people who purchased the one plus and/or invited other people and they purchased would at least get 1 invite but no one knows for sure yet.
The invite system is different this year. You just need to register your e-mail and they will let you know when your invite is ready. You can do that here.

You can also move up on the invite list apparently by having people sign up using your invite referral link if you want to try that. Specs and general impression on the phone are very good. Price is $409 for the 16GB and $479 for the 64GB. Keep in mind I believe the 16GB only has 3GB ram and the 64GB has 4GB ram. Also I think launch time only the 64GB will be available.
General impressions on the phone are very good. You can google some reviews, etc. Most people seem to think its a very premium device especially for the price. It is missing a few things some of the high end flagships have though. No MicroSD slot, no non-removable battery, no fast charging, No NFC. On the plus side it does have dual sim support and insane specs. No NFC might be a deal breaker for me. I use that quite a bit.

Yes. It's shipped from California.
Duties are higher with DHL (express shipping) than regular. Don't recall how much more, but quite a bit iirc. Basically 1 day delivery, after processing, with express though.
