Probably their opening negotiating tactic, but they aren't getting close to that for Sharp.

If the 1st round pick is in place, it could be someone like Buffalo or Arizona who both have 2 1st round picks and 2 2nd round picks. Not sure if they would be on the list of teams Sharp would go to.

Chicago is posturing because 29 GM's know they have to make a deal. The longer this goes the smaller the price will be to get sharp. If Saad is offer sheeted then Chicago will probably move Sharp for peanuts (compared to current demands) to make sure they get Saad in.

Maybe Hudler, Klimchuk and our 52nd overall to Philly for the Number 6 & Lecavalier.

Buyout Lecavalier and Draft at 6 & 15
I like that deal but I don't think Philly would as much.

Oooops sorry that's right.

They might, maybe it's our 45 not our 52. They don't have much depth on LW, exchange Of Hudler for Lecavalier is an upgrade and less term. They could likely trade Hudler at the deadline to a contender or bubble team for a 1st rounder in the 18 to 30 range for the 2016 draft if they don't want him or can't sign him longer term.

If you think the one trade value plot chart is close and assign Hudler as a #20 pick, Klimchuk as #30 pick, our #52 pick it might equate to a number 8 to 5 overall pick - and you save them some cap space and money on a potential buyout.

What would it take to get Griffen Reinhart from the Isles...seems to be a bit buried by their depth on D and would immediately provide us with an NHL ready prospect with top-pair potential (Gio's replacement?)

15th & a B Prospect? (Max Reinhart, Hanowski...)
15th & a roster player (Raymond? Hudler??)
15th and an A Prospect? (Klimchuk? Jankowski?)

Probably none of the above. They would be looking for more I think. Maybe add a second and they think about it.

i excluded the hudler because i thought that was a mistake as he isn't quite liek the others.

I think most of those packages would do it and maybe be an over payment (15th + Hudler would be a massive over payment). Griffen Reinhart hasnt exactly blown the hockey world away since the draft and the only reason he seems to be so highly regarded is because of his draft position a number of years ago. The Isles seem to be doing everything they can to not put him into their everyday line up. I wouldnt be shocked at all if just the 15th would get the deal done.

Why would Calgary make that deal? I think you can get a player as good as Reinhart in the 15 slot.

I seriously doubt that, and NHL ready counts for something. Lateral trade at best for NYI

@DetroitRedWings no longer interested in pursuing a trade for @MapleLeafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf, I was told.

Are the Sens really hitching their wagon to Hammond with all this Anderson/Lehner trade talk? Seems risky given his short sample size, akin to the same situation of Patrick Lalime, who although he wasn't terrible, wasn't any better than your average run of the mill, middling goaltender. Or Andrew Raycroft who completely fell off the map after a Calder winning season.

Sounds like Ramo might be a backup plan for the Wild if they can't sign Dubnyk.

Good. I guess they won't make the playoffs.
