It doesn't take long for a player's contract to go up.

Managing Cap: We are mindful of what's coming. You don't want to be in a position you create a problem a year or two out.

Depends, his drop has been more due to hockey sense issues then any attitude issues.

If he interviews well you never know, personally would hate for the Oilers to be able to get him at 16.

Flames brought 5 or 6 guys back to Calgary after combine.

Do some psychological testing.

Rules say you can't do physical testing.

Can do some poke and prodding from medical standpoint

More for Treliving's benefit that they bring these kids back rather than any evaluation. (i.e. get to know them better)

Attitude and hockey sense were the reason for his drop.

Can't see Brad liking that

Lack of hockey sense? Seems like a perfect fit for the Oilers to me.

on smaller players: 2 years ago no one knew who Tyler Johnson was, but this year at the combine "I am the next Tyler Johnson"

on Russians: always a changing market in Russia that you have to take into consideration. no too concerned about Russian factor

on goaltending: "We have a plan. We have more than one plan depending on how things go"

there is an opportunity in goal, whether that gets sorted out in the next 9 days...

Russian Factor is not a primary concern. They may look at that secondarily but they'll take BPA no matter where theyre form.

internally they have had discussions on QO for RFAs
publicly won't talk about it now until after they talk to the players

much more comfortable in valuing our players compared to a year ago

Sounds like at least one RFA won't be qualified.

You don't build a team through Free Agency. It is a recipe for bad things to happen.

We will talk to a lot of people to see potential fits. There are people we think that can fit with us but it will depend on cost and term

We are going to be aggressive in knowing the market

FA doesn't seem too promising for the Flames. The plan on being aggressive in terms of knowing the market. Have a small number of players they're interested in.

Very close to the finish line with re-signing the assistant coaches. Just have been timing issues, no major concerns.

lets hope that toehr teams gm's/scouts do not serch the net and go into the fan960 audio vaults to listen to treliving give away our draft strategy.

no other teams will need to hack into our systems, because the vault it wide open

Will have oversight in Adirondack. Coach there will manage the day to day hockey. Brad and Conny will be more focused on Stockton

Colborne had a procedure on wrist.
Jooris had a procedure on wrist.
Bollig had nose straightened.

Nothing going into season that will be an issue.
