Brazil have not looked too impressive in the tournament. I think Australia takes them out next round.

Brazil up 1-0.
It could get crazy now. A costa rican goal and there is a coin flip between them and Sweden a spain goal and there is a coin toss between them and Costa Rica.

Switzerland game for us could go one of two ways, given how schizophrenic they seemed in their group games. They have a left back called Rinast who likes to push up and I reckon we can beat her with pace down the flank because she makes mistakes under pressure. Problem will be an extremely skilled forward in Ramona Bachmann who is seemingly everywhere on the field. She was right forward, left forward, and left wing at various points so I have no idea where she'll attack us from. Real dynamic player with quick feet and good chemistry with her mate up front, Humm; each have 3 goals. That said, they pretty much quit playing in the second half against Cameroon and got stepped all over so if they do that against Canada we should be able to pot a few pretty quickly.
Should be a good game.

True, but the winner gets Germany in all likelihood (and Germany also gets a tough match vs France for finishing 1st), and winner of Norway/England gets winner of Canada/Swiss. The winner of Norway/England has an easier path to semis.

That Bachmann is the best forward in the tourney IMO, constantly creating something out of nothing with daft touch and blinding speed.

Would you say she's been taking care of business?

Best forward in the tournament is Brazil's Marta and there's not really any question about it... World Player of the Year 5 times in a row. In the top 3 every year since 2004. She rested today, but a few flashes of brilliance in their first two games. Bachmann was shining against lesser teams, but like I said looked useless at times as well. Chapman and Buchanan could easily shut her down, or she could own them. Complete toss up at this point, granted I've seen her play only 3 matches.
For what it's worth, I revise my assessment of Henry's goal today, definitely the best of the tournament. Love that second touch she takes to move the ball into space.

Marta has looked slow like Wambach this tourney, and it's not even close.
Even the commentators have been on Marta for creating very little offence, and looking disoriented, (like Sinclair)
Rewind and watch again what Bachman does to Japan all on her own and listen to the announcers call her the "Swiss Messi"
Keep all your past trophys and awards,
present day Bachman > than present day Marta and it's not even close.
Canada can't shut down New Zealand what makes you think they can shut her down?

Perhaps but i wouldnt want to play Canada in Canada. They have used this bracket for 24 team tournaments for 30 years. Sometimes A1 is strong sometimes it's not. Next years Euros France is A1.
Also, dont forget the world cup double as Olympic qualifying for europe. Top 5 teams not called England get in.
Holland
Germany
Norway
Swiss
Sweden
France
Are left and France has the easiest game.

Is anyone really scared of playing Canada in this tourney after how they played their first 3?

Just my opinion, but Canada has looked better with every game they have played. I still think they are in tough to make the semis, but don't discount the home crowd having an impact on proceedings.

When the games get more important the crowd gets louder.
The crowd in Vancouver on Saturday will be nuts.

It is not at all rare to see a team struggle through the group stage a bit but then turn it up in the knockout rounds.
Canada's group wasn't the toughest, but they didn't have any minnows and played teams content to park the bus and then counter for the most part.
In terms of rankings they were 8, 12, 16, 17, coming into the tournament. So a pretty balanced group of decent teams. Didn't have any of the weak African teams, CONCACAF, or CONEMBOL teams that other groups were able to feast on.
