Cam Talbot is a hot commodity. Edmtn, Cgy, SJ, Dallas + Florida have expressed interest. Multiple trade offers. First 3 most likely targets.
He was arguably the best goalie prospect in the league only a season ago. So you know there is a lot of upside there. He's supposedly a very competitive and driven kid too. Hopefully he doesn't come too expensive.
Going into season with Ortio/Lehner tandem is extremely risky. Could backfire on the team big time. Find it hard to believe that our GM would take this risk.

If the Flames acquire him, hopefully they can replace whatever they give up by trading Hiller.
As a rebuilding team, I don't really have a problem with the Flames going with a young unproven tandem like Lehner and Ortio. It's not like our goaltending was lights out last year, it was pretty average except for very early in the season.

Why the Flames will be interested in more goalies? Maybe they already know that Ramo will not re-sign and Hiller is on the trading block?
How is Babby formed?
Edit: To add to the Conversation, I am only interested in Lehner if the Pick is not a first rounder. Still happy with going in to next season with Ramo or Hiller and Orts.
He should be the Senators franchise goaltender in waiting when you consider his size and the fact that they used a 2nd round pick on him. I get they have a few goaltenders but you would think they would rather move Hammond or Anderson.

I hope we are just in on him to drive his value up for other teams to pony up for him. Would much rather have Hiller or Ramo with Ortio than Ortio and Lehner splitting games.
No team is going to trade a top 6 player and a draft pick for him, so that's hilarious.
I don't understand the appeal of this guy. Has he ever put up remotely decent numbers in his pro or amateur career?
Yup, I think so. He was very good in Sweden pre draft and post draft in 2009-2010 in the OHL he had a GAA/Save Percentage of 2.80/0.918 while his back up was 3.24/0.889.
Beyond that his numbers in the AHL and brief stints in the NHL were never a concern. Started off strong this season, went off the rails, got injured. He'll turn 24 this summer so he's a potential long term solution as well. As we've seen though teams need more then one goalie, unless he's a rare elite guy.
Going into camp Hillier/Ramo might be a better duo then Lehner/Ortio but the latter has the potential to play at a higher level IMO. Very rarely did the guys this season ever steal games, it always just "okay" goaltending.
If Lehner is healthy he's an interesting pick up, cost considered of course.
