95% of heartburn is fixed by diet.

Kind of off topic but thought I'd throw it out there. I've read that people taking PPI's (Pantoloc, Nexium etc) are much more susceptible to traveller's diarrhea. I can't remember why, but has anyone that takes it find this? I take Pantoloc, and yes every time I go to Mexico I end up with a good bout of it.

Have you tried Dukoral? I always take that when I am going to sketch countries because I always will end up with a bout. It worked on my Costa Rica trip.

I will never forget losing 15 pounds in Thailand due to travellers, or the paralyzing cramps in Argentina. Just non stop for a week. Awful.

Yup, I did try Dukoral and there's one other kind I tried also but I can't remember the name. Neither worked,

Weight loss and diet maybe, certainly not diet alone

PPI's certainly do increase your risk for GI infections including traveler's diarrhea.

Avoiding foods that are washed after/without cooking significantly decreased the risk. There's some controversy over the effectiveness of Dukoral in preventing TD, but it's likely not harmful
