The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge
I looked back three pages and didn't see a thread devoted to this. I picked up a blue one this week, replacing a Nexus 5. I briefly had a Galaxy S3 and preferred the iPhone 5, so this is my first trip back.
Can I just say, wow. First of all, this is the most beautiful piece of tech I've ever seen. It's all metal and glass and curves, and whether it's on or off, I'm compelled to stare at it. The screen itself is bananas. I've never had much exposure to Super AMOLED screens, but I haven't been this fixated on the color green since Return of the Jedi.
The battery isn't great. Whatever. The Nexus battery was awful too. I have a car charger. It's a small price to pay.
I opted out of a case with it as well. I didnt see the point of shelling out for the hot one and then forcing it cover up. And don't put screen protectors on your phones anymore, people. You're being had. Don't put your phone in the same pocket as your keys and change, and things will be fine. This is Gorilla Glass 4. FOUR. The apes know.
The Samsung keyboard is kinda irritating. I just want a 3rd party keyboard that doesn't record my credit card details. Is that asking for the moon to be made of cheese?
Camera's great too. Loads up super fast, takes nice quality shots, and seems reasonably versatile.
The finger print sensor is a little inconsistent but I think it just take getting used to. I do enjoy not swiping all over my screen when I want to wake it up.
The edge part of the screen allegedly does something with contacts or the time or whatever. And Boobs also produce milk.
In my opinion, it's worth the extra hundred without question. The S6 is just another Galaxy. The Edge is from the future.

It's going to be my next phone as soon as I find one without signing up for a contract at a decent price. I was debating on saving some money and going for the S6 itself but since I've been going back and forth on the issue i think i'll go with the edge.

I'm probably just going for a regular S6. Does the Edge look cool? Yes. But IMO, it's not $100 worth of extra cool. With the Galaxy Note Edge, the edge actually offered useful functionality. I don't feel that way about the S6 Edge.
I'm looking forward to getting an S6 though. By all accounts, the camera quality it offers is excellent.

I've had the S6 for awhile now. It's great. Though as I go along, I look forward to installing pure Android. Touchwiz can be hidden a bit with launchers and other things. It is vastly improved, but I still feel like it's just in the way.
One thing to be aware of is that in direct sunlight with the brightness of the screen right up, on light coloured screens, a bit of a shadow of some of the components are visible behind the screen. At first I thought it was some sort of screen burn in.
It's not really a deal breaker, depending on how you use your device, you may not even notice it. It is there though and apparently there have been quite a few warranty claims because of it.

How is the glare on the screen, specifically where the screen curves around the edges? I was fully planning on this being my new phone until I watched a frankly pretty scathing review.
They mentioned that due to the edges, you're pretty much guaranteed to experience glare on at least one side of it. Add to that yet another crappy battery (which you can't even replace anymore) and I was successfully scared off.

How is it for stock programs? One thing I hate abouy my S3 is that there are a number of programs I want to uninstall but cant (and I have no desire to root or whatever its called)

There are a number of them. If storage is your thing then there's not much other than rooting. If annoying is your thing, then you can "disable' them which makes them disappear from any menus

I'm on the Note 3 right now, and I'm debating whether I want the Note 4 or S6 Edge. Edge seems like a pretty cool concept, not sure how useful that will be or how it'll work with a case.
For cases I absolutely need an otterbox. I'm so clumsy with my phones that I shouldn't even touch a phone without a mega case. Sure it's annoying, but it's saved me from having to replace 4 phones in a year.

I'm running a note 3. Can't wait for the note 5 release

God I love this phone. I've put it through the ringer the last few years, and although the battery is on its last legs, it's done absolutely everything I can imagine out of a phablet.
Would highly recommend.

I went for a S5 active with my current phone and it removes the need for an otter box. My little girl has put my phone in the dog's water dish multiple times now and it's fine. She crawls around with it and it doesn't scratch. The active gives you all the protection without the bulk.

Bet the Note 6 will be awesome. Taken from the above link:

claims the handset will become the first smartphone to feature a 3840 x 2160 pixel Ultra HD, 4K display

I'm thinking the Note 5 will suffer from battery life issues. Which they will work out just in time for the Note 6 and my upgrade time.
