Coburn's value is well above Wideman's. A 1st for him would be a solid return. Even Brent Burns was 2nd in Dman scoring, neither of these guys has contenders salivating unless they fill a distinct organizational need. Guys like Wideman and Burns are not as valuable as worst scoring, better two-way guys like Coburn, Vlasic, and Hjalmarsson.

Flames interested in Robin Lehner as per Eric Duhatschek.

I wouldn't be surprised to see one of our second round draft picks and a mediocre prospect sent to Ottawa in trade.

If the Flames snagged Lehner that would be a risky situation going into the season with Lehner-Ortio (assuming Hiller would be moved)

Yeah, unless the Flames have faith in Lehner. But I agree.
It also adds credence to Friedman's theory that maybe neither Hiller nor Ramo are here next season.

I'd love the Flames to get Lehner for one reason.
His favorite band is In Flames and he has the best mask in the League IMO. In Flames? Yep, it works for me.

Is Lehher NHL ready? Maybe they want him to backup Gillies in Stockton?

He won't pass through waivers.

Pretty sure he's on a three year one way contract now. About to enter the second year of it too.
RFA rights still.
9 wins-12 loses-3 OTL with a .905 SV% and a 3.02 gaa. Not great but not terrible for a young goalie. Could hit his stride here and would make for some mad competition with Ortio for the two seasons he is signed.

Lehner and Ortio would be a good combo. Both are ready. Could be a Ramo/Hiller like situation. Hot goalie gets the start.

yeah I got the impression that Friedman was just speculating (neither Hiller/Ramo) but sounds like he might actually be right.

I'm wondering now if Lehner + something would pry Hudler out of CGY... They need someone to get Ryan going.
They have 5 quality RFA's they have to sign over there in Ottawa. Zibenjad, Stone, Hoffman, Chiasson and Pageau.
AND they have an 8 man logjam on D too.

Hudler and a 2nd for Lehner and Chaisson.
Would love to get Chaisson especially. Right shooting power forward with a big frame.

Overpayment on our part. I'd want something more then Lehner and Chaisson if we're giving up Hudler.

Interesting thought. Cowen, Weircoch, Ceci could be players added to Lehner in a Hudler deal

Cowen has zero hockey sense, and IMO Ceci is untouchable.
Weircioch would be a good add though.

Maybe the Sens add Weircoch and the Flames add 3 solid young pieces they need for Hudler and a pick?

It would have to be a massively big "something" to add to Lehner to give up Hudler.
Ottawa needs to move a goalie this summer, and Lehner's stats aren't good enough that he'll demand a huge return on his own.

Zibenejad, Lehner, Dman Murray wants to move (Cowan most likely).
Gives the Flames more speed and size with a talented RH shot in Zibs.
Im sure there's a balance that could be struck in a potential Hudler trade. But I would target a trio like that. Tons of flexibility in making a trade with Ottawa.
