Duncan Keith is like a robot when you watch him play. Never seems to get tired and always seems to make the smart play. Playing 30 minutes a game in the finals and is unreal in his own end. Best defenseman in the NHL in my opinion and is the leader through 4 games of the finals for the Conn Smythe.

On the TB goal...I believe that in basketball terms, TB set a staggered double screen to eliminate TVR in the corner...I couldn't believe that neither interference was called! O'Halloran again had an awful game, as you guys mentioned earlier in this thread...the early interference called on Seabrook was a joke...and the make-up call on Garrison was just as bad.
Both teams went through an extended period of shutting down the opposition offense...the 'Hawks were shut down in the 1st...the Bolts went about 11 minutes, I think it was, with zero shots after their lone goal..

Crawford withstood a furious push at the end...
'Hawk puck management was terrible, and they were just fumbling passes, or passing just out of reach on breakout attempts...Seabrook was especially awful
The Bolts were in collapse and protect mode on Vaselevsky again, who had a decent game, although twice, his left post came to his rescue.
The 'Hawk 3rd line was a non-factor, and hardly noticeable as the game progressed, although I prefer Versteeg's speed to Bickell's, Bickell's, oh heck, most of the time he has simply posted some hit stats, but hasn't really affected play...
The 'Hawks escape with a goalie win, and were somewhat fortunate for that.

Well I guess teams can win in the playoffs playing only 4 D  as long as one of them is a robot.
Keith is definitely the front runner if the Hawks win. Even if TB wins he should get a serious look. Everyone should enjoy watching him play. He's carving out a HOF career in front of our very eyes.

potentially adding a Conn Smythe trophy this year
And he's only 31 so who knows what else he wins before he's done.

Duncan Keith has been absolutely amazing to watch. He almost never makes a mistake in his own end, he logs huge minutes and you'd think he must be exhausted but he still jumps into the rush.
Unreal. The Conn Smyth ought to be his win or lose.

Wow I didn't even realize Keith is only 31. He's already a future HOFer with a good chance of at least 5 more productive seasons.
I see a lot of similarities between his game and Brodie's. The only difference is that Keith doesn't seem to have off-games, whereas Brodie is known to have defensive gaffs at times.

Top Defencemen are typically at the top of their game well into their early 40s. Look at guys like Pronger, Niedermayer, Lidstrom, etc.
They could get 10 more productive seasons out of Keith.

Agreed it could be more than 5, but I think 10 seasons is asking a lot. Sure there are exceptions but with the speed required to stick in today's NHL it's not an easy task.
And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even though Pronger is still getting paid (I think), he hasn't played since he was 36. With the type of game he played you can't blame him though.

Keith's lack of physicality in his game will extend his career...he avoids hits, and really doesn't deliver them...relying on his good stick and skating abilities...his style has also lent itself to durability, he doesn't miss a lot of games with dings...
Not bad for a smallish draft pick that not much was expected from, Seabrook, drafted a year later was the 'Hawks "can't miss" prospect...

Watching the game last night I couldn't help but think how much TB reminds me of Detroit with all the subtle interference and whoops accidentally got in your way there plays. Happens all over the ice.
Been a decent series, when they are on it's back and forth action but long stretches of ineffective play from both teams in all 4 games so far. I don't think the Hawks have played anywhere close to their best so I see things picking up for them.
And Keith is an absolute treat to watch. So good out there. Skates so wel but reads the play even better. Fantastic player. Toews is a beast. Has to be considered one of the best playing right now, so good all over the ice.

Agreed on all counts. Keith is amazing to watch and it seems like hes always out there. Could you imagine a Team Canada with Gio, Keith, Seabrook, Weber, Doughty, etc.?
