Default Construction Parking

Just a question regarding parking. They are building a condo across from work and every morning they put out their no parking signs along the entire block. What authority do they have to enforce their own signs?

I understand not parking on the half of the block directly in front of the construction but they block the other half of the block also and usually park their own vehicles there.

You'd need to check with the CPA if they are allowed to. You can get permission from them to place these signs and have them carry the same weight as a permanent sign.

Thanks, I will give them a call. I only park there for an hour in the morning and move my car before 9am which is when pay parking starts on that street. I accidentally forgot to move my car all day there once and only got a normal drive by parking ticket. I'm just curious.

The City's interactive map may be of use as it lists lane closures.

311 answered my questions. They have a permit effective at 9am, that's what I figured. Not sure why they would try and stop me from parking there this morning at 7:30am. I was kind of a dick to the guy they send to tell me also and now I feel bad, lol.

I thin your lucky your car wasn't vandalized while you left it there.

The reason they put them early is to have a location for trucks to wait nearby (obviously). This is especially important for concrete trucks when a slab is being poured as it should be done as uniform as possible. With me being an ex construction worker, the other side of the grass is not greener. Those signs aren't put up so joe blow worker can park there. These parking permits cost money so it is in the general contractors best interest to not have them for long.
