Oilers apparently really like Svechnikov. Interviewed him multiple times.
Kylington interviewed with 26 teams (including the Oilers).

BTW. Here is the video where he says he thinks the Flames interview stood out for him (along with Kings, Florida, Jets and Wild)
Interviewed with 28 teams, only the Stars and Islanders didn't interview with him.

Boeser wouldn't be a bad selection if the Flames were picking around 22-25, but would be a large reach at 15. I have no problem if the Flames select him, but there are better guys on the board at 15.

From the Combine interview videos:
Boeser - interviewed with 28 teams. Islanders and Stars did not interview
DeBrusk - was originally scheduled to interview with 30. Kings cancelled on him
Connor - interviewed with 25 teams. Flyers were one of them.
J Roy - interviewed with 22 teams.
Bittner - interviewed with 25 teams. Flyers were not one of them.
Merkley - interviewed with 25 teams. Leafs were one of them.
Werenski - interviewed with 20 teams. Buffalo was one of them
Barzal - interviewed with 25 teams. Flyers were not one of them.

I would actually go the other direction and trade down to pick up another 2nd. Too many good players in the 2nd round. There are about 10 that should go from 45-60 that are awesome in their own right and are not much of a step down from Boeser. The depth in this draft is absolutely crazy.
If the Flames hooked up with the Sabres again like in 2012 and moved from 15 to 21 and acquired 51 then took Boeser, I'd be fine with that.

I would find it quite funny if the Flames did end up trading down to 21 and selected Boeser, who is headed to the NCAA for the next 4 years. Jankowski 2.0.

Considering Button has him ranked top 10 it would be pretty risky to try that strategy again (if they were really that interested in picking him).
It's not too much of a reach to pick Boeser at 15. I think he'll go in the 15-20 range. And, as you say, there are probably a few guys on the board around there who have similar ceilings but aren't committed to the NCAA route, so that would keep the Instant Gratification Brigade happy as the other players would probably make it to the NHL faster.
Thing is, he has an NHL-ready physique already, so he may only need a year or 2 in college to develop.
Come on Treliving: rock out with your Brock out.

Boeser seems a bit under rated. His numbers are really comparable to Connor in the same league. He's just a different type of player, less flash but it doesn't mean he will be less effective.
I wouldn't mind the Flames taking him at 15. I'd prefer him to Meier at that spot but maybe that's because Sven has really soured me on Swiss players.

Head-to-head numbers for McDavid and Eichel: http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=770083
Eichel's numbers are better on everything except Pro Agility (Right) and the Wingate bike test. I'm sure McDavid has already emailed these results to Chiarelli with a note that he'll understand if the Oilers want to pick Eichel instead.

^But then he has to go a different hole in Buffalo, he really can't win.

I would hope not, all he'd do is talk about how great Connor McDavid is and how a Cup is imminent in the Oiler's future and before you know it the interview time is over.
