Default Casey Printers

Played in his first NFL preseason game this year. I watched the highlights on sportsnet, he struggled to say the least. I guess the Chiefs have some injuries to their backup QBs so Printers had a chance to really make a statement.

6/12 71 yards, 0 tds, 1 pick, 2 rushes for 22 yards, 1 fumble. Oh and the Chiefs lost.

Barker mentioned that Printers looked very average in Cheifs camp when he went and saw him.

May be in danger of being cut?

Kansas City was not the right city for him from the start. He needs a city like Chicago, Philadelphia, DC - somewhere where this is a large black population and an inept starting QB.

Printers should have all ingredients for stardom in the NFL, he can run ala Vick but can actually throw a ball.

I hope he does well, and when his 5 years are done, come to Calgary

I saw a lot of Cheif Champ highlights when I was down in the states and wow, does he ever look out of place.

I disagree, Green is getting ready to retire, likely in 2 more seasons, this was the perfect chance for him to learn the offense and then be gradually placed into the role.

However, he seems to be blowing his chance with his very inconsistant showing.

There is also Herm Edwards, who is now the head coach in KC.

I think the other two QB's in camp are injured, which is why Casey got almost all the snaps... don't forget that he's an NFL rookie, so you can't expect too much from him in his first game...

It didn't seem to hold Jay Cutler back!

Yeah, it's only his first game and lets face it he's a project. At best he was going to make the team as a third string guy and most likely as a practice roster guy. He has good physical tools but his thinking and reads are probably miles behind where they need to be. He's still pretty young so he can try this out for a couple years and if it doesn't work out the CFL will likely take him back. I mean Damon Allen can't have another three years left in him.

haha! How True! - actually, I heard from OJG that he plans on playing til hes 50!

I wonder if he will go far though? He does have the tools but is he really a team player? That does go a long way in the end to how successful you are. He sure burned his bridges in BC - I don't know if I would have taken it any bette than he did by not getting the nod in that Grey Cup game 2 years back... but Buono is classic for going with his original starter for the big game! We would have likely won a couple more grey cups and Flutie was our starter then!

But if he doesn't make it, I'm sure Hamilton, Toronto (they love guys like that) and possibly Winnipeg would love to get him!

... just keep him out of a red jersey please

You'd rather have Burris over Printers?

Kansas City does have a large Black population. And a Black coach. But I don't see how that has anything to do with his playing ability. I watched the last half of the game on NFL network. He had 71 yds but more than half of that came off a 44 yard pass. Which was perfect. On one play in the red zone I think he thought he was back in the CFL. He threw the ball 10 yards out of bounds over the head of his receiver who would have had to make a tippy toe catch if the ball would have been thrown to him. And no, it didn't look like he was just throwing the ball away either. The Kansas City media was all giddy over Printers before mini camp. Then you woudn't even know he existed after camp. The only reason he got the playing time he did on Saturday night was because backup Huard is hurt and so is third round pick Croyle.

what the hell does having a large black population have to do with where he should play??

Pretty much every large American city has a large black population. Especially Kanas City. No sure what you are trying to say but it seems slightly ignorant.
