If you like great stats, here are a couple of prospects with good numbers:
Timo Meier (RW/C) 6'1
44 goals, 46 assists, 90 points, in 61 games
The chances of him being available at 15 are slim
Nick Merkley (C) 5'10
20 goals, 70 assists, 90 points, in 92 games
He's from Calgary and lost in the Memorial Cup finals
Yevgeni Svechnikov (LW) 6'1
32 goals, 46 assists, 78 points, in 55 games
A Russian who won the Calgary Puck poll for Calgary's pick
Thomas Chabot (D) 6'2
12 goals, 29 assists, 41 points, in 66 games
All-around defenseman who is projected to be top 4
Jeremy Roy (D) 6'0
5 goals, 38 assists, 43 points, in 46 games
Very mature and is good defensively.
I think Kylington and Sprong deserved to be mentioned as well. But I personally think they are both overhyped, and we are more likely to pick one of the prospects above. They are all good enough to get excited about.
If Meier was available, I'd take him a heartbeat and I would be very excited. Otherwise, I think they'll pick either Svechnikov, Chabot, or Roy.
In response which team has been the best at drafting:
I would say Anaheim since they have only drafted in the top 10 twice (and one was from the Bobby Ryan trade). They have acquired assets in all positions through the draft.
Although I think I should point out that Nashville has been great at drafting and developing defense for many years. Forwards, that's another story.
