What really GMG...this d-bag with a cracker jack license keeps parking on my street. I left him a note, and called the CPA on him, and he won't take a hint. So I wrote "NO PARKING" on his windows to teach him a lesson...that'll learn 'em!!!

Okay, seriously. Sounds like someone really got offended seeing you there again after supposedly "getting a ticket", lol.

When you do talk to the police, see if they can talk to the Parking Authority and/or the parking officer to find out who called it in originally. They won't tell you, of course, but the police can at least talk to that person and see if they will admit to it. Because you gotta think that it was most likely them who wrote on your windows.

I mean...they left you a note, and called the parking authority to ticket you. After having their proud moment, they saw that you had the "audacity" to park in the same spot again, and that was the last straw. So they had to "teach you a lesson" by writing all over your windows. At least they didn't key your car and damage your paint...was it permanent marker, or will it come off in the wash?

Keep us posted on what happens, though!!

I'm pretty sure you can't get photo radar tickets reduced. Only challenge the validity.

You can always ask for a reduction. Whether or not you get it is an entirely different story.

Yeah the marker mostly came off with some water. I also have the parking officer's badge number from that ticket.

I seriously do not understand this person's damage though. Bylaw doesn't care. The adjacent property owner doesn't care. Why does this person care so much?

I was planning on baiting the person today by parking there again and leaving a note, but then it rained and I didn't want to walk that far today lol. Hopefully the weather is nice tomorrow.

Anyone can go to the court office with that ticket, it doesn't have to be the registered owner. She can go down and ask for a reduction, she will get it. For photo radar speeding, you will get a reduction 100% of the time if you state you're there to pay the ticket and would like a reduction. I was a prosecutor who occasionally got stuck doing first appearances for tickets and traffic court.

I'm really curious as to where this parking spot is. Can you share on streetview?

OMG. I went to look it up. My car is actually there in Streetview! And there's actually a ticket on my dash in the picture lol. But that's because it's 2 hour parking and I forgot to move my car. So there are multiple cars with tickets in that view. I actually see some of my co-workers' cars there with tickets as well heh. I've never gotten a ticket for the actual location of the park job. Only for exceeding the 2 hours. But because my car is actually there, I'm kinda scared to post it here. Identity protection and all that.

Why? Do you have your picture, address and SIN number on the side of it?

Not so much worried about identity theft. But make and model are quite clear, and sort of distinct. I just figure the less personal info about me out there, the better. If anyone is super curious, fire off a PM.

If there are multiple vehicles, who would know which one is yours anyways?

I have a question too... Back story below
Spoiler!

I'm supposed to receive a letter stating my ownership of the stall soon. Supposedly I call CPA and use this letter to prove the stall is mine when they show up and have the car towed. Is it really that easy? Or do I have to do more?

It was that easy for me. I had a guy continually park in my stall. So i got fed up and called CPA, they came and towed the car within 20 minutes.

I may have gotten lucky cause a tow truck/CPA person was in the area but they were really fast.

I used to park for work on a residential street in Mission. I'd move around. A couple times a week I'd park in front of a particular house. This was not a permit only street. No signs. Just a street in front of a house.

One day I got into my car and saw a sticker on the windshield. Not a post-it note, but a sticker label, like the kind you put on a legal envelope. It warned me not to park there anymore. After I spent about 5 minutes peeling the thing off my windshield (getting the glue residue off the glass took a lot longer), I considered sticking it to the front window of the adjacent house. However, I wasn't 100 per cent sure that was the homeowner who stickered my car (only about 95 per cent sure), so I desisted.

I'm a law-abiding person. And I like to think I'm considerate. But there's a way of going about things. Escalating to d-baggery before you've even made an effort at a polite exchange is not necessarily the best approach.

Ah great to know then. Did they only ask for proof of your ownership of stall and then tow them? My biggest fear is the owner of the car doing something to my car in anger, but when you leave several post it notes on the windshield, enough is enough.

I even gave the guy a week to sort out an alternate parking arrangement in the last note. I think the average guy would have had it towed or done a bit of random destruction or dirtying of the car.

This was about a year and a half ago, but I believe I showed them some mail plus my drivers license, I can't recall if they actually looked or not.

The stalls at my building were marked with unit numbers.

Never let someone park in your spot, build a fence even an inch on your property, or pretty much anything similar to these ever. Super pain in the you know what.

I doubt I would have allowed even a single time without towing. A second instance and it is escalated.

It is almost as if the city hopes more people will break the laws so they could make more money. It is both haliarious and ridiculous.
